Regarding God's Creation
Geology and the Flood, Part 5
Approaching a New Equilibrium after the Flood
On May 3rd
the GHCA will present and discuss the classroom lectures geologists Dr. Austin and Dr. Wise recorded at the
IGH Conference last June. These two PhD. geologist will examine just how the Genesis Flood subsided after it peaked in a worldwide Flood event. They will discuss what happened geologically as the initial driving energy of the Flood was dissipated and declined toward the new near equilibrium state that we see today. This process was probably dominated by an exponential decay curve which continually slows down but
never completely stops. That makes it hard to choose exactly where the Flood ended and a new equilibrium begins. So, this subject is somewhat controversial among creationists. However, Drs. Austin and Wise have an excellent set of geological criteria to work from.
This lecture is part five in our series on Flood Geology by geology PhDs
. In the first four lectures we saw there is very strong physical evidence that Dr. John Baumgardner's geophysical theory of Catastrophic
Plate Tectonics (CPT) explains much more evidence than conventional slow and gradual "continental drift" theory. CPT also predicts the specific continental motions, the geologic position of cold subducting slabs and very large and very hot uprising mantle bodies that are now observed in the mantle, and much about the strata that was laid down across continents.
One thing has become clear:
if there is an event anything like CPT in Earth history, then there is very little observable geologic
data that can be validly interpreted without considering CPT. If a CPT event occurred and one insists on interpreting all data in a uniformitarian framework, then one will arrive at a systematically false interpretation. Ideological insistence on slow and gradual uniformitarianism is the core error that permeates Earth science today.
Three more big questions
will be dealt with in June through November:
First, can Flood geology explain the order of the
fossils in the geologic column? Second, can Flood geology explain the types and distribution of radioactive isotopes in the geologic column and how does that impact isotope dating? Third, can Flood geology produce the development of the languages, civilizations, and Biblical history which we have physical, archaeological, and written evidence about after the Flood? Although there are still significant aspects of these questions yet to be dealt with, over the course of the next year we will present and discuss lectures that go a long way to answering these questions in the affirmative!
This series on Flood geology represents a paradigm shift in progress! Don't miss this great adventure of discovery. Sign up for our newsletter to keep up. Look at our newsletter archive to catch up.

Examples of Important YEC Scientific Evidences
Some major examples of physical evidence we point to include:
- Remains of original soft tissue still found in dinosaur bones. Along with that tissue is C-14 that would decay completely away in less than a hundred thousand years, a tiny fraction of the dinosaur fossil's supposed age.
- For many years geologists have found C-14 in fossil carbon throughout the fossil record.
- The origin of the information and molecular machinery in the first living self-reproducing cell remains a complete enigma for biologist and biochemists.
- In the origin of the universe, big bang theory is being recognized as a dead end by increasing numbers of secular scientists. The hypothesized inflation has nothing to start it, drive it forward, or stop it. Without inflation fatal flaws appear with the absence of predicted antimatter, magnetic monopoles, or any means for the whole universe to come to the same precise background temperature. Then the formation of the first stars is as enigmatic as the origin of the first biological cell. Dark matter and dark energy are as enigmatic as the deep space motions they are needed to explain.
At the root of all standard science are many assumptions that may be quite incorrect. At the top is that there is no God. Another is that present process can be used to explain everything in the past. When we look at a canyon we are taught to assume the river at the bottom cut the canyon. But perhaps tectonic events made the canyon and there is a river at the bottom because water always flows downhill. At the root of big bang theory is a pure assumption that has been named the "Cosmological Principle". Perhaps inaccuracies there are responsible for the big bang's multitude of problems.
There is more about the role of assumptions in science found on our website here. There are many more resources on young earth and young universe evidences here.
