A Message from the Executive Director of Development: |
Dear Carondelet Community,
I don’t have a front-row seat to your daughters’ daily experiences. I get glimpses of the beautiful interactions and moments that make up their days, but I’m endlessly grateful for the perspective I do have. One that allows me to constantly reaffirm that our students—your daughters—are the why of what we all do. They personify the heart, faith, courage, and excellence that is the charism of the Sisters and the mission and vision of Carondelet.
Several times a year, our award-winning choir practices outside beneath our Convent offices. Their gorgeous harmonies waft up and serenade us with a clarity and virtue that only young voices can. They are why.
The courtyard of the Convent is the Gratitude Garden of our Cannon Wellness Center. It’s always filled with a range of human experience—solemn gatherings in shared mourning, gentle laughter during exchanges between friends old and new, quiet reflections as individuals take the time and space they need—and reminds us of the deep compassion of our students. They are why.
Students from all walks of campus show up to celebrate one another through student-led clubs and activities. It’s extraordinary to witness food and music and dance and history knit them all together and build understanding and community. This kind of vibrant celebration and connection replicates itself over and over. They are why.
Our students step up time and again to help others access the unique whole-person educational experience here. They bravely call strangers for hours during our Giving Day phone-a-thon, they humbly share how Tuition Assistance and the Sisterhood Fund have made a critical difference for them and their families, they design and build professional-level Adirondack chairs for our auctions, and they serve at events. They are why.
The example and rich partnership of your daughters makes my work come alive and clarifies my team’s charge every day. They are our beneficiaries, and those generations who will stand on their shoulders. Working to that end is a privilege and a gift. The success of these exceptional young women—intellectual, spiritual, social—is truly everyone’s success, and the success of our world. Thank you for them.
Warmly,
Summer Staino
Executive Director of Development

Celebrate Student Innovation at STEAM Evening – Friday, May 9
We’re excited to invite you to Carondelet’s first-ever STEAM Evening, a celebration of student research, creativity, and talent.
The evening begins at 4:30 PM in the Jean Hofmann Center for Innovation with our Scientific Research Symposium, followed by light refreshments, and concludes with a Spring Choir Concert at 7:00 PM in the De La Salle Theater.
This special event showcases the incredible work of our students across science, technology, engineering, art, and music. We hope to see you there!
AP Testing Begins Monday, May 5
AP testing kicks off on Monday, May 5! Over the next two weeks, Carondelet will administer 940 exams across 19 different subjects. If your daughter is taking an AP test, please encourage her to get a good night's sleep and to fully charge her iPad each night to set her up for success.
Exams will be conducted each day through Friday, May 16 on our campus. During this time, there will be no bells during the school day, so students not testing will need to ensure they are in their classes on time. The Library will be closed for testing the entire two weeks. No loaner iPad or keyboards will be available for students as they are all being used for AP exams.

Shadelands Parking Update
We have received complaints from businesses in the Shadelands Business Park regarding unauthorized student parking. Students who choose to park off campus in that area must use legal street parking along North Wiget Lane. Parking in business lots is not permitted, and continued violations may result in tickets or towing at the vehicle owner’s expense.
If your daughter parks off campus near Shadelands, please take a moment to review this expectation with her.

- Skirts/Dresses/Shorts must be mid-thigh or longer.
