Be Aware! Nationwide Roadside Enforcement Event Next Week

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) has scheduled its 2026 International Roadcheck for May 12–14. This 72-hour high-visibility blitz is the largest targeted enforcement program for commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in the world, spanning the United States, Canada, and Mexico. During this period, inspectors will conduct a high volume of North American Standard Level I Inspections—a rigorous 37-step process that evaluates both the mechanical fitness of the vehicle and the regulatory compliance of the driver.

For 2026, the enforcement event will place a dual focus on cargo securement and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) compliance. Inspectors will be scrutinizing loads to ensure they are properly immobilized and secured to prevent shifting or falling. Simultaneously, they will be checking for ELD tampering, falsification, or manipulation, which has remained a top driver violation in recent years. Vehicles or drivers found with critical safety violations will be placed out-of-service until the issues are corrected.

Beyond the specific 2026 focus areas, the standard inspection covers critical systems including brakes, tires, lights, and steering. Success during the Roadcheck often results in a CVSA decal being issued to the vehicle, signifying it passed a qualifying inspection without major defects.

Your Texas Propane Dollars Are on

the Chopping Block. Report now!

The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) sent out a critical annual survey that every propane retailer is required to complete annually.

Every report counts.

Why Reporting Matters

  • Drives funding back to your state
Determines how assessment dollars are allocated—less data can mean less funding.
  • Directly impacts PERC on-road program budgets
  • Internal combustion data sets the limit for on-road safety, training, and outreach funding.
  • Feeds U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) data
Ensures propane is accurately represented in national energy statistics and policy discussions.
  • Guides industry strategy
Provides a clear picture of market trends and growth opportunities.
  • Protects your state’s market share

Underreporting can make your market look smaller than it actually is.

Less than 10% of Texas propane retailers have reported. Submit your data today to help ensure Texas receives its fair share of funding.

The survey window for PERC’s retail propane sales report closes May 15, 2026—Please report your 2025 gallons from last year to PERC.

Don’t leave money on the table for Texas. Report.

Thank you, again, to those who have reported thus far!
