Don't Miss the May 6 CFAD Deadline
The CFAD is due by May 6 in NOVA and must be certified by all members. If you do not submit the CFAD by the deadline, the California Adult Education Program (CAEP) Office will use last year's allocation percentages to determine funding.

Call for Promising Practices for CAEP Summit
Think back to your consortium's last regional event, to the conversations around practices that are helping consortia become better at what they do everyday. Some are emerging practices. Some have already demonstrated their effectiveness and can be called promising practices.

We want to hear your promising practices at the 2019 CAEP Summit! Bring them to a statewide stage where you have the chance to reach more of your colleagues in adult education. Just complete our short online submission form.

Sequoias, South Bay Offer Online Pathway Tools Paving Path for Aspiring Adult Learners

The Sequoias Adult Education Consortium makes it easy for prospective adult learners to find a path to a career through the web-based planning tool featured on its website. Site visitors are greeted by a homepage that prominently displays 11 pathway options and clicking on one kicks off a series of questions. Users' answers help direct them to a page with information about a potential career fit, with the chance to click further to a page with all the information needed to get started on the path.

Following the trail blazed by the Sequoias consortium, the South Bay Consortium for Adult Education (SBCAE) launched a pathway tool on its website, too. It features 12 pathways and also uses a series of questions to help prospective students zero in on a career fit. The end point is a page with valuable information about certificates and degrees, which colleges offer related programs, how to get started and the job outlook.
