Beloved of God,
The other day I was talking with someone who told me that while cooking dinner the previous night, they couldn't find their favorite spatula and they nearly broke down in tears. I can relate. Maybe you can too. The anxiety of a global pandemic, paired with a rising infection rate and a rising death rate, combined with not being able to be connected with people like usual, added to the uncertainty of the future - it's a recipe for a roller coaster of emotions. Most people I talk with say that sometimes they're fine, other times it is a lot harder.
I hope you know that it is okay to feel whatever it is you're feeling. You are not alone in your anxiety, fear, grief, loneliness, numbness or whatever you are feeling. Please reach out to someone so that you are not carrying your feelings alone. And remember that God is with you no matter what.
I've found these words from Psalm 119 a good prayer for me lately. I hope they can help you too:
Psalm 119:49-50
Remember your promise to me, your servant;
it has given me hope.
Even in my suffering I was comforted
because your promise gave me life.
Peace to you, Pastor Sarah

Worship Update
When can we get back to church? So many of us are wondering the same thing and longing for our community! There are so many
questions to answer so that we can make worship safe for everyone, especially the most vulnerable among us. We can't simply return to business as usual.
Our church leadership are researching, talking, and praying about these questions and looking for creative solutions. As of now, we expect to worship drive-in style after the stay-at-home order is lifted. Please watch here for more information or ask a Council member, and let us know if you have any suggestions!

REMINDER!
We will be offering an IN PERSON PLANT SALE on Saturday, May 9 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Church's parking lot.
St. Paul Lutheran's Sunday School is hosting their annual plant sale to benefit the Sunday School program. Again this year we are partnering with Wosika Farms to supply the plants. The Sunday School program will receive 40% of all sales; these funds help pay for the curriculum and supplies for the program. Last year we were also able to purchase bibles for our classrooms and make a donation of bibles to another congregation. In addition to program materials, we are hoping to update the Sunday School rooms, purchase additional bibles and make a donation to a cause chosen by the Sunday School children.
Please see the church website for information on the sale and social distancing guidelines that will be adhered to.

NURSE'S CORNER
We are blessed to have knowledgeable and caring nurses in our congregation! They have some words of advice for us:
May is stroke awareness month. Stroke is the sixth leading cause of death and one of the leading causes of disability in Minnesota. A stroke occurs when a blood vessel that carries oxygen and nutrients to the brain is either blocked by a clot or bursts. When that happens, part of the brain can't get the blood and oxygen it needs, so brain cells die.
If a stroke occurs, and blood flow can't reach the region that controls a particular body function, that part of the body won't work as it should. In general, the left side of the brain controls the right side of the body and vice versa. If a blood vessel is blocked on the left side of your brain, you will have symptoms on the right side of your body.
Stay tuned next week for more information on strokes.
~ Joanna, Jan, and Jaime
Remember to pray for these nurses and all those on the front lines fighting the corona virus.
