Happy Mother’s Day!
I know what a huge positive role my mom played in my spiritual development. Mom’s
can give so much in ways both spoken and unspoken. Their approach to raising their
children can be as varied and distinct as the women who fill the role. Let me say, “Thank
you!” to the moms who use their individual personalities and approaches to point their
children to Christ. I pray the day is special and memorable for each of you.
Hopefully, without putting a damper on your day of celebration, I want to encourage you
to be empathetic to those for whom Mother’s Day can be a day of great difficulty. Those
who are unable to bear children, those who have lost children, those who have lost their
mothers, and those who struggle with the day for other reasons may find Sunday
especially painful. If that’s you, know that you have been prayed for and are loved!
Thank you for being a great church! Let’s remember to welcome guests and each other,
not only before the service but after as well. Many guests come in at the last minute and
so we want to be certain to seek them out after the service.
You all are a blessing!
