"The Arc of Laughter" with Desiree Walker
11 AM Worship Service
| 'She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.' – Proverbs 31:25-31 | | | |

About our presenter: Raised in a multi-cultural pastor’s family in Germany, Angelika heard all kinds of stories from early on (some of which she’s still trying to understand). After studying literature, modern and Biblical languages and theology, she holds a Dr. phil. (PhD) in Italian linguistics, works as a language instructor at the SDA Theol. Seminary at Andrews University, and runs a foreign language teaching and coaching business. Together with her husband Denis, a church historian and professor for Adventist history (even more stories there!), she lives in Berrien Springs, Michigan with their two daughters (6 & 2), experiencing their own while listening to many other stories present and past. Especially the study of Biblical narratives and reflecting on life in their light has become a source of constant awe and motivation for their life and walk with God… something both are excited to share.
