President's Message: Momentum, Milestones and What’s Next!

Spring has been nothing short of spectacular for BOMA/GLA, and I want to take a moment to celebrate some of the incredible highlights we’ve experienced together so far this year.

Our Spring Golf Tournament in Palm Desert was completely sold out—and it delivered! From high-energy rounds on the course to the after-parties and pop-up events that kept the connections going, the day was packed with fun, laughter, and meaningful engagement. Thank you to everyone who came out and made it one of our most talked-about events of the season.

We proudly participated in the first BOMA Pacific Southwest Region Conference in over 30 years—an energizing event full of great content and meaningful collaboration. Thank you to all our BOMA/GLA members who showed up strong, and a special thanks to Kimberly Thornton and the Ivy Station team for hosting an outstanding building tour the next day.

We connected emerging talent with experienced professionals, shared opportunities across the industry, and laid the foundation for a stronger future workforce. We’re already looking forward to doing it again next year.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to play, connect, and soak up the sunshine with us! Whether you showed up to compete, cheer on your colleagues, or simply enjoy the great weather and good vibes, we’re so glad you were part of it.

Code the Future: BSP’s Tech Camp for Kids

It is critical to expand opportunities for low-wage communities to include digital access and skills. BSP’s Digital Literacy program offers access to tech devices and digital education to close the digital divide for property service workers and their families.

Building Skills Partnership in collaboration with SEIU-USWW, was thrilled to host a Tech Development Bootcamp for children! Students learned HTML & CSS coding and even built their first video game.

The connections between members and admin have grown beyond just business - they've developed into lasting, lifelong relationships.

If you could choose anyone as a mentor, who would you choose and why?

Richard Branson for his vision, his drive, humanity and the love he provides to his team and associates.

What career advice do you live by?

Be honest, have integrity and keep learning!

Fun fact that people probably don't know about you?

I am a former body builder and played five different instruments as a child/teen.

What's Happening in Advocacy

Policy Committees in Action

In our Sustainability Committee, members learned about best practices for Universal Waste Recycling and how the City of Los Angeles is not compliant with the current California Building Code. Thank you to Richard Ludt, Director of Environmental Affairs and LEED AP at IRS Demo, for the presentation.

Lastly, we closed out the month with our Security and Emergency Preparedness Committee, where members learned about cybersecurity vulnerabilities associated with devices, cameras, and technologies commonly used in our industry. Thank you to Chris Peckham, Chief Operating Officer at Ollivier, for speaking.
