Dated Ballerina Setting
A "ring insert" in a dated baguette ballerina setting was brought in to Diamonds On The Key to brainstorm how to best utilize the diamonds.

As tapered baguette cut diamonds get the most sparkle and best effect when grouped and set closely together, it was decided to keep their partial prong mounting intact and remove it from the ring shank.

The baguettes were steam cleaned and the metal polished to remove scratches. Posts to transform this piece into earrings were laser soldered in the correct position with push backs supplied.

The entire piece receive bright new white rhodium plating for added shine.

The result was a stylish new pair of earrings that the client can wear everyday!

Black Diamond Necklace
A men’s necklace consisting of faceted black diamond beads was dropped off at Diamonds On The Key, after the string had broken, with several of the beads scattering onto the floor. Luckily, the owner was able to find all the valuable beads! The break was caused by the necklace having no clasp “pulling it" on and off over the head, which in turn stretched out and
put tension on the thread.

The beads were restrung using heavier gauge nylon thread, with knots every inch, to reduce the loss of any beads if the necklace were to break again in the future. A durable lobster claw clasp was added in 14 karat gold, which was plated with “black rhodium”, to keep a uniform black color.

This happy client is now wearing his necklace again every day.
Pear Shape Diamond
Computerized CADD Design
After inheriting several pieces of dated yellow gold jewelry, this client turned to Diamonds On The Key for “Makeover Inspiration”, to transform these items into something she would wear.

Since the client did not care for yellow gold, white gold was decided for the new custom-made design. The pear shape diamond became the focus for the new piece of jewelry, as it was substantial in size and good quality.   A pendant design was selected, with all the other smaller diamonds unset from the bracelet and brooch and sorted by size. Larger diamonds were utilized for the “double diamond halo border”, to be set around the pear shape diamond, for added scale and volume, with the smaller diamonds utilized for the chain.

A computerized CADD design was created to fit all the various size and shape diamonds for the pendant and cast in 14 karat white gold. The smaller diamonds were handset into smooth white gold bezels, laser soldered into the link chain, and the chain connected to the pendant.

The client received a “scrap gold credit” for the old yellow gold, which accounted for 80% of the price of her new necklace, making for a very economical custom Makeover! The client was thrilled!

Diamond Ring Transformation
After receiving a diamond cocktail ring from her grandmother, this client found she was unable to wear it, as all the small prongs of the ring kept “catching” on her clothing, and she found the ring too ornate for her taste.

She wished for a piece of diamond jewelry that was easy to wear and would coordinate with her own pendants.
A classic “diamonds by the yard” style was selected and the
Makeover process began!

Over 20 diamonds from the ring were unset and grouped into various millimeter sizes, placing the larger diamonds towards the front of the necklace, and graduating to the smallest sizes towards the back. Smooth, clean bezels were utilized to hand set each diamond in 14 karat white gold. A sturdy cable chain was selected, and the diamond bezels were laser soldered in an evenly spaced pattern. An adjustable link was added towards the back of the necklace, so that it could be worn at 16 inch or 18 inch lengths, and the old ring mounting was applied as a scrap gold credit towards the total price.

The client is so enamored with her new necklace and wears it every day!
