May Board Meeting Highlights

SBE held a virtual Board Meeting May 13 from 12:30 - 5:00 p.m. and May 14 from 8:30 - 12:30 p.m. with Zoom. The agenda included discussion about the impacts of COVID-19, Emergency Waivers, as well as diploma and graduation pathway options and private school approvals.
Student Member Gives Final Presentation for State Board

Last week, student Board Member, Autymn Wilde (Spokane Valley), gave her final presentation to the State Board of Education virtually. As a junior member last year, and this year, as mentor and senior, Autymn brought a passion for student support and advocacy for student well-being to the Board. In her presentation, she discussed her educational journey and the work she hopes to see happen to support students.

The Washington State Opportunity Scholarship (WSOS)
