Wednesday, May 4 (11:30am-12:30pm)
Funder: SAMHSA
This webinar will provide attendees with an introduction to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) theory, with a focus on special populations and programs. Theory overview will include a demonstration of the "ABC" (antecedents, beliefs and consequences) process to educate participants on the relationship between antecedents, beliefs and consequences to stimuli, cognitions and emotional or behavioral responses. Discussion will include irrational beliefs and cognitive restructuring, as well as practical coping skills and reinforcement strategies (like contingency management) that can be referenced at case consultation for special populations and programs. Attendees will have an opportunity to engage in roleplay, and pose questions of our trainer that are relevant and specific to their caseload and work.
