MPI New Jersey has been busy moving our live programs to virtual and working hard to bring our members and community together for both education, information and networking as often as possible. If you could not be there, here is a recap of what you missed!
Town Hall
Our Office of the President hosted a Town Hall on May 4th, which covered how to handle receiving member relief for renewal, the state of the MPI New Jersey Chapter and answered your pressing questions. If you would like to listen,

Education Programs
May 14th we hosted a webinar with speaker Tyra Warner Hilliard on the topic of
Contracts and Negotiations in a Post COVID-19 World. Tyra showed us how to analyze the force majeure clause in the context of COVID-19 and in pandemics in general along with preparing us to negotiate for new contact standards for our meetings and events.
With so much unknown right now, it was wonderful to have Tyra help us navigate this important discussion.
Meet Up
On April 30th, we hosted our first virtual networking event with 40 attendees. A great time connecting was had with discussions about the current state of the industry, a game of Two Truths & a Lie, and everyone's own favorite cocktail.
Board Retreat
The incoming Board of Directors for the 2020-2021 term came together for a virtual Board Retreat on May 7th and 8th. This retreat was very different then our typical live retreats, but the Board was able to focus on building out the Chapter's Business Plan, Calendar and Budget for our membership.
Although the term will look much different than originally anticipated there is an excitement and great synergy among these Chapter Leaders and it's sure to be a great year.
