Tik Tok

If you think tik tok is just the sound a clock makes, or you are doing well navigating your Children's Ministry Facebook page, don't let this suggestion feel like you need to do more. However, some of you connect with your children or get sucked into hours of scrolling on Tik Tok daily. If that is you, I would like to challenge you to use Tik Tok in your ministry to reach the millennial parents or as a fun way to give instructions.

Check out this Tik Tok below, where the youth director and the children's director are teaching their volunteers for Sunday School or VBS to check with the supply closet first. Many items that volunteers need for lessons can be found in the church.

You could start your own Children's Ministry Tik Tok account for parents to follow. However, making one fun informational video that is not time-sensitive in a text to volunteers would be a fun way to receive training or faith formation ideas.
I have recently started using my Spotify account now to find new music. I stumbled across this young artist. I can't find his name, just his channel, and albums. The name of the track is Called Out. I liked the grace-filled lyrics, and many of the songs would be lovely for children to sing during VBS, worship, or play quietly when the children are working on something. You may want to keep it for your listening, but his song Thank You and My Prayer could be helpful in Children's Ministry.
District Mini-Beyond

Here are the dates and contact information for each mini-Beyond offered in the spring and summer within each district. If your district date does not work for you, you are more than welcome to sign-up to go to another district's scheduled date.
District mini-Beyonds are a free event! If you didn't sign up for Beyond, it does not matter! At each one, we will have a miniature version of Messy Church, watch the keynote speaker recording, have a meal, and receive all the educational books.

Tanako staff will be helping again this year with childcare for Annual Conference. If you or your pastor is planning on coming, make sure you know that there is free care for five and under in the nursery at First Church Hot Springs, and children from Kindergarten to 6th grade get picked up by the Tanako vans at 8 am and returned to First Church at 6 pm.

This year for the first time, Tanako is offering an overnight option for those that come for Annual Conference care. You can pay an extra $120 per elementary child and have them spend the night. Overnight camp is entirely optional, and each parent is responsible for signing up their child on the Tanako website under PK Camp using the coupon code: ARUMC22 for the discount price. Annual Conference sign-up begins today, April 1!
