Dispensation Removed: Church Protocol Update
May 17, 2021
|
As our state and country begin to move back to normal, the Catholic Conference of Ohio has announced that the dispensation from the obligation to attend Holy Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation will be lifted beginning the weekend of June 5-6, 2021. Please click here to read the details of their letter.
Beginning May 22-23, we will begin moving our church building back to full capacity, with seating in every pew. We will keep a reserved section on the baptismal font side of the church for those that wish to maintain social distancing. We will also continue our livestream of Masses for those who do not feel comfortable worshipping in person.
We will also begin phasing back in lectors and eucharistic ministers, as well as congregational singing.
Bishop Brennan has asked us to continue to observe precautions including restricting the Sign of Peace, Holy Water in the fonts, and the distribution of the Precious Blood at Mass.
We will continue to follow all state guidelines regarding masking until they expire on June 2, 2021.
Thank you for your continued patience, support, care, and concern during this pandemic. We will continue to pray for those affected by the coronavirus.

Each time you deliver will require about 1-1 1/2 hours starting at 10:45 am.

You are invited: Let's get together for an in-person, on-campus summer small group!
|
This in-person, on campus summer small group is for women of the parish, incoming 9th grade (fall 2021) through adult women of all ages.
We will meet on Wednesday evenings, June 16 through August 4 from 7-8:15 PM as we learn about and from the life of St. Catherine of Siena.
St. Catherine of Siena | Setting the World Ablaze
In her mere 33 years she left such a rich legacy that she is named a Doctor of the Church. She is best known for The Dialogue, a book of meditations and revelations in which she shares intimate conversations with God. She used her ‘feminine genius’ to address the problems the world presented her and her words will ring as true today as when she first exhorted fellow Christians: “Be who you are called to be and you will set the world ablaze!”
This small group is free, but participants are responsible for purchasing their own study materials for $34.95.
Plan to participate?
Complete the registration form linked below so we can plan for your participation. After submitting the form, you will be provided with a link to purchase the St. Catherine of Siena study materials from Endow Ministries.

Real Presence, Real Future Reflections: Live What We Believe
|
Pentecost Sunday, May 23, 2021
Come, Holy Spirit!
Deacon Joe Knapke, Ss. Simon & Jude Parish, West Jefferson, OH
After greeting His disciples, in His Real Presence, with a blessing of peace, Jesus breathed on them, bestowing the Holy Spirit, declaring they could forgive sins in His name. Through our baptism, we have each been blessed with the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit operates in us, guiding and strengthening us on our mission. May the Holy Spirit bring reconciliation and peace to our lives, our Church, and our world. As we celebrate Pentecost, let us pray that the Spirit impels us to renew our Real Future efforts to build God’s kingdom in our Diocese and throughout the world.
To read more about how we are growing together in the life of faith and discipleship in the Diocese of Columbus, visit www.RealPresenceRealFuture.org.

Graduation gifts will be provided for the high school graduates in attendance, so RSVP is required.
