May 2025

I invite us, as a parish, to join in prayer for our newly elected Pope, Pope Leo XIV.  May God bless him with courage and strength.

I also have some parish news to share with you.

Fr. Lynch has received a new assignment as Pastor of St. Mary Parish in German Village. This assignment will be effective July 8, 2025. Fr. Lynch is well prepared to be a pastor and we wish him well.

Deacon Steve has also received a new assignment to diaconal ministry at St. Thomas Newman Center, the Ohio State University. This is a very exciting opportunity for Deacon Steve and we congratulate him. He will be a great presence among the Catholic Community as OSU. While he will no longer be ministering as a deacon here at St. Brigid, he and his family will remain parishioners of St. Brigid of Kildare.

Fr. Jason Fox has been assigned as Parochial Vicar for St. Brigid of Kildare effective May 16, 2025. We look forward to welcoming him to our parish.

Hygiene Collection Drive

The weekend of May 24 & 25, the Social Action Committee will be outside Hendricks Hall before and after all Masses collecting hygiene & cleaning supplies to benefit Catholic Social Services.

Since 1945, Catholic Social Services has been a steadfast source of compassion, dignity, and hope for those Christ calls us to serve. Across 23 counties, they impact the lives of more than 11,000 individuals each year—reaching out to those who are vulnerable or living in poverty. Their mission includes walking alongside people experiencing the harsh realities of poverty, hunger, loneliness, and disability, offering support, connection, and care.

The Appeal 2025: Together in Mission

The Appeal is how we as a parish have an opportunity to bring about a positive change in the lives of many of God’s people in our Diocese.  The theme for this year’s Appeal is “Together in Mission.” Inspired by the Gospel of Mark (16:15), which calls us to “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature,” we are reminded of our shared responsibility to evangelize and serve.

Our parish has raised $107,000 of our $365,000 goal. As we approach reaching our parish goal for the 2025 Appeal, remember that anything above our goal that is collected will be returned 100% directly to our parish to support our own parish projects and ministries. We can accomplish this goal if, after prayerful consideration, everyone gives what they can. Our response to the Appeal is one way to share our blessings with our neighbors and to express our gratitude for all the blessings that our most loving God has bestowed on us.

Through The Appeal, we are united in faith and stewardship, ensuring that Christ’s presence reaches every home and heart. Your generosity helps sustain four essential ministries:

  • Evangelization – Bringing the Good News to our communities
  • Vocations – Supporting seminarians, priests, deacons, and religious men and women answering God’s call
  • Social Doctrine – Providing aid to the poor, marginalized, and those in need throughout our diocese
  • Education & Faith Formation – Strengthening Catholic schools and religious education programs to build a strong foundation in faith and academics

For examples of ways your Appeal contribution aided our brothers and sisters in the Diocese of Columbus in 2024, click here.

The Appeal began the weekend of April 27 and 28, 2024. Please consider supporting the ministries and programs made possible through the generosity of the people of faith.

We strongly encourage you to go online to columbuscatholicgiving.org to make a secure pledge or gift.

The Mantle - High School Youth Ministry

Happy Summer! We had a great wrap up to the end of our year here at The Mantle!

We had our first ever Mantle musical (written and directed by one of our teens), entered into Lent and Holy Week with a night of youth group about the Passion & Lenten studies throughout the season, attended an event with Catholic speaker Jason Evert with 500 people at St. Joan of Arc, and finally had our last youth group night talking about the potential that God has for each and every one of us: that He has made us uniquely and with a great purpose that we are constantly seeking to learn and grow in Him!

As the school year and our ministry year slows down, we are excited to announce our summer dates (see attached). We are excited to see our teens enter into a season of growth and relationship with Jesus in these summer months!

All those entering into their freshman to senior year of high school in the Fall of 2025 are welcome to come and join us at our events. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please reach out to Ellie Hanson at ehanson@stbrigidofkildare.org.

We as a youth ministry are also so excited and praying for our new pope, Pope Leo XIV! Here is a quote that he said recently about young people: “Young people: do not be afraid! Accept the invitation of the Church and of Christ the Lord!”

Please know of our prayers for you, and thank you for praying for us!

In Christ,

The Mantle

If you plan on attending, please email High School Youth Minsiter Ellie Hanson to RSVP (ehanson@stbrigidofkildare.org).
