Adventures in Conservation:
Forest Bathing, Poetry, and Kayaking!
|
We're excited to offer two upcoming outings as part of our Adventures in Conservation Program!
Forest Bathing and Poetry
Friday, May 31, 6–8 PM
Forest bathing can help us calm and center ourselves and feel a greater sense of inner peace. During this outdoor writing opportunity we'll make a sound map, write a short poem or two, and enjoy the health benefits of being in the midst of one of the few remaining old-growth forests in Pennsylvania, Alan Seeger Natural Area. The area is named after the World War I veteran and poet, so it is fitting that we find ourselves continuing his work in the area named for him. Registration is appreciated, but not required.

Kayaking and Canoeing at Bald Eagle State Park
Wednesday, June 5, 6 – 8 PM
Join us for an evening of kayaking and canoeing at Bald Eagle State Park. Take in the warm summer sun, enjoy the views, and keep a lookout for nesting birds near the Bullit Run Access! The cost of the event is $25 per boat (kayaks seat 1, canoes seat 2). Have your own kayak or canoe? Great! You are welcome to join us at no cost. Bart Beck of Tussey Mountain Outfitters will lead the event and provide kayaks, paddles, and life jackets. Pre-registration is required.
