LITKIT (A BOOK SUBSCRIPTION BOX)

To participate in this subscription service, you must be between the ages of 13-25 and have a DPLS library card. There will be library books in the box that will need to be checked out to your library card.

Only 10 boxes will be available. You will be placed on a waiting list if registration is full.

The box will be ready for pick up by the first of the month. You will receive an email notifying you that the box is ready for pick up.

If the box is not claimed by the seventh of the month, it will go to the next person on the waiting list.

Most everything in this box is yours to keep, we just ask that you return the two library books and box by the 25th of the month to any DPLS location.

This is a three month subscription. After the subscription period is over, you will need to sign up again to receive more boxes.

Any questions, contact Pam at prellstab@defiancelibrary.org.

BOOK OF THE MONTH

In honor of Jewish Heritage Month we have selected the 2023 Morris Award winning novel, The Life and Crimes of Hoodie Rosen by Issac Blum.

Hoodie and his family have just moved to the mostly non-Jewish town of Tregaron.

So far, life for him isn't that bad. He still avoids his studies, plays basketball, and makes frequent stops to the local market for some kosher snacks. It is not his problem that people in the community are striking out against the rising Jewish population - that is, until he meets Anna-Marie Diaz-O’Leary, the daughter of the outspoken mayor.

With the rising antisemitic crimes and violence, Hoodie finds himself caught in the middle between love and family.

DEAR YA READERS
SQUEEZY McSQUEEZY

Hello there my dearest lemony friends,

Welcome to May!

And do you know what that means?! Only one more month of school, which means only one more month until summer vacation, which means only one more month until the start of Summer Reading Challenge: Imagine Your Story, which means only one more month until sheer awesomeness.

Until that time, we have been spending our days using the VR equipment borrowed from Northwest Regional Library System (NORWELD) during Teen Night Thursday. By far, Beat Saber was the most popular game.

Sadly, I did not play. One look at that headset sent me running to the bathroom. I get motion sickness.... =[ You will never see me on an elevator.

Anywho, that is all.

Love,

Squeezy

P.S. The last picture was an impromptu shot of the D&D group that meets during Teen Night Thursday.
