Are You Connected?

Stand firm and be deeply rooted in His love. - Ephesians 3:17, CEV

These days, we are connected almost all day long through the internet. But what would happen if you didn't have this source for a day?

Perhaps, you couldn’t talk with your family, friends. Maybe you wouldn’t finish your work or you wouldn’t be able to answer your emails.

Let's be honest, you can definitely survive without it, but it wouldn't be easy. Now, imagine if you were disconnected for a whole week, or a month or, even worst, a year!

It would be chaos.

Now think about your spiritual life.

Are you connected to God?

Jesus says in His Word that He will remain in us if we remain in Him. He is the vine and we are the branches. We can’t live if we aren’t connected to Him.

If you let your roots grow down into Him, everything will be different. For example, you will have a grateful heart. This doesn’t mean that you won’t have difficulties; it just means that it will be harder to bring us down. When we're rooted in Christ, we will gain the strength to overcome any situation.

However, if we are unplugged from Jesus, we are incomplete. No matter in what situation you are in or if you have been disconnected for a long time, He is waiting for you.

Connect with Him.

Be rooted in Him.

Starting This Sunday
And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

Parent and Student GroupMe

We have a student and a parent GroupMe account to help keep everyone up to date on what's going on in student ministry. GroupMe is a group texting app that's a great forum for staying connected and asking questions. It can be muted, so you won't get notifications constantly. If you or your student would like to be added, just text or email Nathan at 706-464-7548 and nathan@theridgecolumbus.com.

Souled Out Dates: Monday, June 6 - Friday, June 10

Souled Out is a Christian conference for middle and high school students. It is held at Laguna Beach Christian Retreat on the west end of Panama City Beach, Florida and it focuses on students’ relationship with Christ. Morning and evening worship and speakers set the tone for each day. The conference is discipleship oriented, and each student will participate in a D-Group (disciple group) made up of students of their grade and gender. Each D-group is led by college-age Discipleship Leaders (D-Leaders) whose focus is on helping students open up and grow closer to Christ. Lots of free time is scheduled into each afternoon for individual activities, swimming at the pools or beach, playing in the basketball/Ultimate Frisbee/volleyball, etc. tournaments, competing in the strong man/woman contest, or just hanging out and relaxing. Souled Out is the perfect setting for students to open up and be real before God and with each other.
This year’s Souled Out theme is “SOAR,” based on Isaiah 40:31: "But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint."
Worship will be led by Jonathan and Lisa and their band, MOORE.
This year’s evening speaker is Charlie Marquis and this year's morning speaker is Christian comedian Lee McBride.

Children's Ministry

Theme - Give/Save/Spend

This May at RidgeRunners, our theme is Give/Save/Spend, based on
Matthew 6:21: “For where your treasure is,
there your heart will be also.”

Masks are optional on Sunday morning. If you wish to send your child with a mask, we will support that and will require them to wear it while at RidgeRunners. Extra kn-95 masks are available in the greeting area near kid's check-in.

Hi, Parents!
We've re-opened our Pre-K room on the Turner Auditorium main hallway. Children who are potty-trained through Pre-K5 should be dropped off in the upstairs hallway. Look for the banner outside their room. Infants through Toddlers will remain in the last classroom on the right. Kindergarten through Elementary will continue to meet in the gym. Check in at the hallway table just inside the Turner Auditorium doors.

If you're looking for some more online options for children's programming check out:

*Rightnowmedia.org: This is a free video resource for our church. Check out the kids' section (VeggieTales, etc.) and watch with the family! Registration link: click here.

Car Talk:
*Why do we treat stuff as more important that people sometimes? (We're thinking about ourselves and forget what is most important)
*What is one thing you could do this week to show someone you treasure them?
*What does it mean to give God our first and our best? (To trust God with our money before we spend on other things and to give God our energy before we do other things.)
*How could you use saved money to help someone?
*Which is easier for you: to give, save or spend? How can you do better with the ones that are harder?

Memory Verse (learn it together):
Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is,
there your heart will be also.”
