AN INSIDE LOOK AT PLAYING PERCUSSION ON BROADWAY! Passing the torch from one generation to the next is one of the most sacred duties an artist can fulfill, and that's what Local 802 members do each year at the NYU Broadway Percussion Seminar. NEWS FROM THE PENSION FUND: The AFM Pension Fund has altered its longstanding policy and is now making documentation free and available digitally. This is great news, and we encourage musicians to examine this info closely as we discuss the future of our pension. For more info, click here.
The U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on the Music Modernization Act (H.R. 5447) this week. The AFM has sent out an action alert, encouraging musicians to contact their members of Congress to support the act. Follow Congress' schedule and watch the vote live here as it happens.
