From the Director's Desk...
|
Writing this can be difficult. I'm starting to write this letter in March, but it's for May. I need to keep a bit ahead of the game because my days can get very busy. Looking out the window now, I see a ton of melting snow. I'm hoping that in May when I look out the window I'll see green grass, budding trees, and flowers blooming.
Flash forward to May and spring has arrived. A big thank you to all who came out and participated in our annual Budget Vote and Trustee Election.
Already our May calendar has lots of offerings for you. We have a Movie Monday, Dog Tales (reading to dogs), our Creative Writers group, and a lecture titled, "The Girl from Ipanema & the Music of Antonio Carlos Jobim." Those are just a few of our many programs. Take a look at all the offerings in this newsletter for a good idea of what to expect in May. I hope we see you at the library soon!

"The Hudson and Beyond"
by Judy Reynolds
April 27 - June 29
Primarily self-taught, Judy Reynolds has created landscapes and still-life paintings in either oils or pastels for over thirty years. As a native of the Hudson Valley, most of her work is focused on the Hudson River and surrounding mountains, fields, and marshes. The dreamy marshlands in Maine also offer Judy inspiration for her artwork. Judy’s favorite seasons to capture on canvas are late fall and early spring filled with sunsets, storm endings and foggy marshes, rich with the changing colors of the seasons.
Come enjoy her pieces on display through June 29 in the Library Community Room.*
*Because this room is also used for programs, patrons are encouraged to call prior to their visit to make sure the exhibit will be accessible for viewing.
