Watch Our Progress: Downtown Burlington Is Open For Business
Downtown Burlington is seeing a boom in projects. TIGER Project work continues on the Riverfront, the 700 - 800 blocks of Jefferson and on Main Street. Tama Too is going up quickly on the 300 block of Jefferson Street. Churchill Building is almost complete and getting ready to open as residential and commercial space. Merge Urban Development Group is ready to start building on 3rd Street. The 700 block of Jefferson Street is undergoing exciting renovations. The Burlington Apartments on the corner of 3rd and Valley Street is having tuckpoint work being done to the façade of the building. There are many upper story renovations happening and commercial space is being created throughout the Downtown district.
Although you may not be able to park in front of your favorite business when construction work is on that block, remember that there is parking on the side streets and in the city lots. In most cases, you can park less than a block away and walk to support the small businesses.
With all of these projects happening in the Downtown district, remember, "We Are Open For Business". Come down and see the progress in front of your eyes! Stroll, shop, eat, drink and enjoy the Downtown!

The 2021-22 Greater Burlington Leadership class is happy to announce their group project “Greater Burlington Murals: Embracing the past while painting our future”.
The Group has raised over $12,000 for this project to be completed by local muralist Craig Jacoba. Craig's work can be seen all around the community. He's done work at the pediatric unit at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, CNH and the YMCA.
Unveiling and ribbon cutting for this mural will be on May 16, at 4:30 PM on the 400 block of N Main, wall of Jennison Building (Drake overflow parking lot). Ribbon Cutting is open to the public.
Thank you to the Premier Patron, Patrons, and Sponsors for making this art possible. Premier Patron Great Western Bank, will be unveiling the mural at the ribbon cutting on May 16 at 4:30 PM.
Public art helps bring culture and a vibrant welcome to the community. We are excited to have the opportunity to give this as a gift to our community and to have it be the backdrop for our visitors to take pictures while they are adventuring through Greater Burlington. This art will be a catalyst for more art in the community and an attraction to welcome tourists into Greater Burlington.
