BEST OF BENEDICT’S
FORWARD, ALWAYS FORWARD
“If you're not going forward, you’re going backward … If you are involved in a community, the community has to be moving,” our Headmaster Fr. Edwin says in our latest video as a prelude to our special three-day event – The Best of Benedict’s: Celebrating Students, Faculty & Alumni. See more below on our Best of Benedict’s preview:
Celebrate our Students as we open up The Best of Benedict’s with our Annual Giving Day. Please consider a gift of any size to help fund our 900-plus student community by the next school year. You can support any fund of your choice. The Annual Scholarship or COVID Relief Funds, Athletic Teams, and The Trail are just some of the areas you can support. Stand up and be counted during these 24 hours by making your gift early by clicking here.
Celebrate the backbone St. Benedict’s – our Faculty – as The Best of Benedict’s continues for its second day with the ever-popular, all-day Silent Auction. Bid on some special items to support faculty development initiatives. Golf foursomes, autographed sports memorabilia, unique wine and dining experiences, even a trip to the Super Bowl, among many others, will be available. Click here for a sneak peak at some of the items up for auction. We'll reveal all of our exciting items, packages and memorabilia up for bid on May 12.
Celebrate your fellow Gray Bees by joining alumni of all ages for a Virtual Reunion beginning at 6:30 p.m. on our final evening of the Best of Benedict’s. Virtual Rooms will be available based on sports, activities, and class years. Fr. Ed will be present to welcome everyone and give an update on what's buzzing at The Hive. Click here to register now.
HIGH POINT: WE ARE GLAD TO BE BACK
A massive and unprecedented undertaking continues as the Backpacking Project got off to a start in 2021. Due to the pandemic, last year’s “Trail” was postponed. So, on Sunday (May 2), that postponed 47th Project involving this year’s sophomores began the trek along the Appalachian Trail. The 48th Backpacking Project kicks off with the Freshman hike on May 23. And, for the first-time ever, Girls will be dropped off at High Point State Park to start their 55-mile hike to the Delaware Water Gap. The Girls Prep Division will leave on May 22. The endeavor this year is much more daunting – not just logistically, but doubling up on the number of tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and food, etc., results in a greater budget expense. Not to mention COVID-19 testing, social distancing restrictions and all the pandemic protocols. Our alumni and friends have started a #StayTogether fundraising drive. You can help the effort by clicking here.

You can also stay up-to-date on all the happenings from “The Trail” by following the official Twitter page of the St. Benedict's Prep Backpacking Project by clicking here. Updates on the progress of hikes and anticipated return times will be posted there.
