The Leadership Essentials (LE) 2023 April program was a virtual session on Visionary Leadership, led by Stacie Hunt, LP '02, and included conversations with local leaders Mary Ann Scully, Leonardo McClarty, and Trala Downer, LP '20. Join me in thanking them for sharing their experience with us!


Up next, LE will explore mental fitness techniques from PQ: Positive Intelligence on May 18 from 9:15 am to 12:15 pm at The Meeting House. Hopeworks, as part of their Self-Care & Social Justice Programs, will launch a free workshop series titled, “Unapologetic: Using Arts and Humanities to Explore Revolution and Oppression”, beginning Thursday, May 11. This workshop series will provide 15-20 LGBTQ+ identified adults with an opportunity to participate in six sessions exploring visual arts, performing arts, history, literature, and the healing arts. The Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) is seeking volunteers to serve as

Simulated Congressional Hearing Judges to judge 5th grade students as they demonstrate their knowledge on issues related to the constitution as part of the Simulated Congressional Hearings program. Volunteers will simulate the role of a Congressional panel by listening to and asking questions of the students who are testifying as expert witnesses; training will be provided.


When: Various dates in May and June               

Where: Elementary schools throughout Howard County
