Our Commonwealth's IamHer Conference

Congratulations to the Chamber's very own Hannah Viens on receiving the prestigious "Our Commonwealth IamHER Ally Award" on April 12th! The Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber Chamber team was honored to attend Our Commonwealth's 2025 Women on Fire conference to celebrate Hannah's remarkable achievements and commitment to supporting women in our community.

We were also incredibly proud to see our talented staff member, TaNia Calbert, shine as she participated in the Young Women on Fire Panel, sharing her insights and inspiring others with her passion and expertise.

Moments like these remind us of the exceptional leaders we have in our Bardstown community. We're grateful for Hannah and TaNia's dedication and the positive impact they continue to make!

These women are on FIRE!

April Connect Hosted By: My Old Kentucky Home Dinner Train

What a fantastic evening we had at the April 19th, 5pm Chamber Connect hosted at the beautiful My Old Kentucky Dinner Train. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special networking opportunity. The train depot provided the perfect backdrop for making meaningful business connections while enjoying exquisite cocktails, shopping at the gift shop and enjoying the delicious charcuterie board. It was wonderful to see so many chamber members connecting and building relationships in such a unique historic venue. Special thanks to My Old Kentucky Dinner Train for their outstanding hospitality! These Chamber Connect events continue to be a valuable opportunity for our business community to grow together. Looking forward to seeing everyone at our next gathering!

Earth Day Celebration

A Better Nelson County helped the community celebrate Earth Day celebration on April 22nd.

The Chamber has taken environmental sustainability as an important initiative that we care deeply about, and the Earth Day event perfectly demonstrated why. Local vendors showcased incredible sustainable products and services, from renewable energy solutions to eco-friendly solutions with education.

Community members connected with local organizations committed to reducing their ecological footprint. The enthusiasm and participation from everyone who attended truly showed how much our community values protecting the natural beauty that makes Nelson County so special.

Thank you to all the volunteers, elected officials, vendors, and visitors who made this celebration such a success. The Chamber is proud to support these efforts and looks forward to continuing our work with A Better Nelson County on future sustainability initiatives.

Young Leaders

Our Young Leaders wrapped up their final day by giving back—volunteering with the Feed America Program. We couldn’t be more proud of the leadership these students have shown all year long!

On April 23rd, we celebrated this incredible group with a special lunch and certificate presentation, joined by our top sponsors, educators, students, and parents. A big congratulations to Zoie Daniel, recipient of this year’s Young Leaders Scholarship!

Special thanks to My Old Kentucky Home State Park for generously sponsoring our venue and Food Obsessions for the delicious meal. And of course, a HUGE thank you to all of our program sponsors—this program thrives because of your support. Thank you for believing in the future of our community!

Spotlight of the Month

Patron's Home Center and Electric Outlet

Patron's Home Center and Electric Outlet was established in 1998 by Ron (a Vietnam era Army Veteran) and Pat Birge. Fun fact: the name Patron's comes from their names, "Pat" and "Ron" as well as a reference to a "patron" which is a loyal customer! We have lots of great loyal customers and we appreciate each one! Pat, Krista and Steve (their daughter and son-in-law) operate the stores today. Zachary, Krista and Steve's son is also a big part of the business. One day he will be the Third Generation to operate the business! Patron's has been fortunate to have several longtime employees and we have been fortunate enough to watch some of our young employees grow and become successful members of our community. People are our most valuable asset. Patron's Home Center and Electric Outlet is a hardware store, electric wholesale store and so much more. We have an expansive nuts and bolts section, a large plumbing and heating section, an entire room of over 75 sizes of air filters, industrial paper and cleaning items and an RV section! We cut and thread black iron and galvanized pipe, make computer chip keys for vehicles. Patron's stocks PPG paints and if you come see Janet she can match just about anything and can match any color from another paint company. We are the only local Henri Fountain dealer, their concrete fountains and statues are of unmatched quality. Patron's is Central Kentucky's largest Weber Grill Dealer! Weber charcoal and propane grills along with the accessories greet you right as you enter the store. We fill propane tanks from 20 pound to 100 pound tanks, RV tanks and even propane vehicles! Patron's Home Center and Electric Outlet is thankful and proud to be a part of this community!
