In the midst of the pandemic, the Dover Chamber is happy to share some uplifting news from around our community over the past month. It's rewarding to see how the members of the greater Dover community have supported each other during this time.

Main Street Relief Fund
Prequalification Deadline is Today

Today is the mandatory deadline to submit a prequalification form to apply for the State's CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Fund.

New Hampshire small businesses desiring to obtain relief will first be required to provide information concerning their possible COVID-19-related lost revenues and receipt of Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans or any other federal relief. 

Green and White Day to Celebrate Dover High's Class of 2020
To help acknowledge that this is a different graduation season, Dover High School is asking the community to participate in a city-wide Green and White Day on Friday, June 5.
 
During a two-hour window between 10 a.m. and noon, DHS seniors and their families will be encouraged to drive through the community, particularly Central Avenue from the Weeks Crossing to Durham Road and then onto Alumni Drive. They are asking that local businesses acknowledge the class on their existing signs and deck the area out in front of their businesses in green and white.

“During this unprecedented public health emergency, our residents and business community are faced with new challenges every day,” Mayor Robert Carrier said. “Despite these challenges, one thing I know for certain is Dover will beat this. Part of the fabric of our community's nearly 400-year heritage is our resilience.”

Jewelry Creations launches “Class Charms” contest for graduating Seniors
Jewelry Creations is excited to announce a contest for graduating seniors. The contest called “Class Charms” is open to all graduating seniors and runs through June 19. A winner will be announced during a Facebook Live event held at the store on June 25 at 5:30 p.m. with a grand prize of $500 up for grabs.

CAP teams with Liberty Mutual to help feed the seacoast
The boxed lunches from Liberty Mutual and Community Action Partnership of Strafford County provided food for seniors and parents in need who were not receiving food through another program at CAPSC. They also provided fresh supplemental food for those who visit the agency’s food pantry that's located in Dover.

Dover realtor creates giving campaign for SEED
Seacoast Endowment for Education in Dover, ( SEED ), a nonprofit organization dedicated to lifting academic excellence in Dover schools, is pleased to announce it has received a $750 donation from Mindy Marcouillier, realtor at Great Island Realty . A Dover resident, Marcouillier has pledged to make quarterly donations based on a portion of her 2020 sales.

Resident launches Adopt A Senior campaign
In response to the COVID-19 Virus, the Dover High School Class of 2020 has had to develop creative ideas to celebrate their graduation.

Unicyclist rides 100+ miles, raises $1K for COVID-19 research
May is National Bike Month and Bob LeBlanc celebrated by riding his unicycle in the American Lung Association 's annual  Cycle the Seacoast  event. As part of his fundraising efforts, he recently completed 100 miles of cycling and has raised nearly $1,000 for COVID-19 research and the American Lung Association. He is the first person to ride a unicycle more than 100 miles for the event. Due to COVID-19, the annual event switched to a virtual experience this year and is open to anyone from across the world to participate. Since 2010, this event has raised near $1 million for the  American Lung Association .
