NOAS LOVES ADOPTIONS

NOAS is congratulating a sibling group of three and a special young lady this month.

MAY IS FOSTER CARE AWARENESS MONTH

In recognition of Foster Care Awareness Month, NOAS is hosting a “30 Days of Fostering Gold” video series on our Facebook and Instagram pages. These posts feature various tips and resources offered in order to raise awareness and educate our community about foster youth and foster care. Be sure to check these videos out and share them.

Thank you to The Youngstown Foundation for their generous support of NOAS’ Ignite Mentor, HEERO, and TBRI programs. These programs have a significant impact on the children and families we serve. NOAS has been awarded $75,000.00 by the Youngstown Foundation to further our work in these program areas. We are grateful for their support.

Register Your Foursome

We look forward to seeing you at the first annual Wheels and Meals on Sunday, June 19th from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm at the Yellow Dog in Cortland, OH. This event is sponsored by Yellow Dog Saloon & Grill and Heels ‘N Wheels.  The day includes a car and bike show, 50/50 raffle, Chinese auction, music, great food, games for kids, and more! All proceeds go to NOAS. Hope to see you there.

Join us on June 4 from 12pm to 6pm at the Pride in CLE. For the first time since 2019, Pride in the CLE™ looks to celebrate once again in-person and NOAS will be there. Stop by our table to learn how you can become a foster or adoptive parent or a Mentor to a child/teen in foster care.

REGISTER TO BECOME A LICENSED FOSTER/ADOPT FAMILY WITH NOAS ADOPTIVE/FOSTER CARE PRE-PLACEMENT EDUCATION CLASSES

4,000 Ohio children are waiting for a forever family. NOAS charges NO FEES to families who want to foster or adopt from foster care.

TBRI® NEWS FOR NOAS FAMILIES ONLY

NOAS is committed to not only recruiting more foster and adoptive families but also ensuring that the licensed NOAS families we serve are equipped to serve well by providing evidence-based, trauma-informed training for those who serve children in foster care. NOAS is offering TBRI® training to all licensed NOAS families and require training to help families and foster youth work through real-life, problem-solving scenarios. The following is a schedule of up-coming classes:


CORRECTING PRINCIPLES

Tuesday, May 24th and Thursday, May 26th

from 6:00-9:00pm


EMPOWERING PRINCIPLES

Tuesday, June 21st and Thursday, June 23rd

from 6:00-9:00pm


*must attend class on both days to receive full credit. No partial credit can be given at this time.
