Direct Relief will host Scott Reed and Jonathan Bishop to lead an FAQ on their new consulting business and will discuss the critical pieces that make strong Development Teams and Development Plans.


Learning Objectives:

1.      Explore the key principles and best practices in fundraising and capacity building as demonstrated by Scott and Jon's extensive experience and expertise in the field.

 

2.      Understand the possibilities for scalable development plans for your team small or large.

 

3.      Address common misconceptions or myths surrounding fundraising and capacity building, and gain clarity on the realities and nuances of this essential aspect of organizational sustainability.

 

4.      Examine case studies or real-life examples from Scott and Jon's fundraising efforts, illustrating successful campaigns, challenges faced, and lessons learned.

 

5.      Learn about the importance of building and nurturing relationships with donors, stakeholders, and community members in successful fundraising endeavors, and how to effectively cultivate these connections.

 

6.      Identify potential strategies and actionable steps for organizations or individuals looking to enhance their fundraising capabilities and achieve their financial goals.

National Philanthropy Day is a special day to recognize and pay tribute to the individuals, organizations and businesses who generously give their time, talents and resources for the enrichment and benefit of our communities. This year, the AFP Santa Barbara Ventura Counties will join chapters across the country to celebrate the giving spirit and exemplary leaders of our philanthropic community.  


First held locally in 1987, National Philanthropy Day recognizes the great contributions of philanthropy- and those people active in the philanthropic community who have enriched our world. It also provides an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of giving and all that it has made possible.

The event will honor a recipient from each of the following categories:

Youth in Philanthropy, aged 16-23

Professional Fundraiser of the Year
