President's Letter

It has been an honor and privilege to serve as President of the Metropolitan Philadelphia Chapter of the HFMA for the 2022 – 2023 chapter year. I’d like to thank my fellow officers, board members and many chapter volunteers for all of your energy, creativity, and dedication throughout this past chapter year. Our chapter year runs from June 1 to May 31 and it has been a successful year for the chapter as we held a total of six in-person educational events beginning with our Annual Fall Institute in September. Today’s HFMA has more than 100,000 members and our Metropolitan Philadelphia Chapter now has over 3,500 members!

Community Outreach: 2023 Career Wardrobe

Description:

Do you have WOMEN'S and MEN'S items to donate? The Wardrobe needs more than professional clothing to help outfit people for work and everyday life. They accept donations of clothing, accessories, and footwear, handbags, etc. Being a resale store, The Wardrobe accepts anything you have to donate whether it be comfy, casual, professional, or dressy attire. (Older but still useable items can be brought for donation for The Vincent DePaul Society; please mark bags appropriately.)

Mission: The Wardrobe is a nonprofit social enterprise that uses clothing to inspire change. The Wardrobe believes clothing shouldn't be a barrier to success and works to eliminate clothing insecurity. Clothing insecurity can mean not having anything to wear or not having the right thing to wear. After leaving The Wardrobe, our clients shine from the inside out with clothing that helps them succeed in any area of life.

At The Wardrobe everyone - and everything - deserves a second chance. Our goal is to eliminate clothing insecurity by outfitting people for life or work. Your clothing donations combined with our personalized support will help thousands of people this year to look and feel their best to move forward in their lives.

Please consider donating new/gently-used items (CLOTHES, SHOES, HANDBAGS, ETC.) to help someone find self-sufficiency and independence!

That one quality, special item of clothing is far more empowering to our clients than an assortment of poor-quality clothing. Unfortunately, they can’t use anything over two years old, out of season, stained, ripped, torn, peeling, or faded. Items with missing buttons, broken zippers, odors or animal hair are also unacceptable. However, older, but still useable clothing can be brought and will be donated to those in need through “The Vincent DePaul Society”, but please mark your bags/containers appropriately for the charity to which to donate.

The Wardrobe uses clothing to inspire change for 5,000 people in the Philadelphia region every year. Your high-quality donations help others in our community by giving them confidence in their journey towards independence.
