All advancements earned by Cub Scouts need to be reported. Now that the Cub program runs concurrently with each school year, this year's program will soon be over so don't break for the summer without reporting all advancements earned during this program year as Cubs will move to the next rank in September. In fact, Scouting America highly recommends that advancements be reported on a monthly basis.
Scouting America provides Scoutbook Plus for just this purpose. It provides many benefits in addition to being the official method for reporting advancements. However, if you are not familiar with this program, you can submit an advancement report to the Registrar, Anna Marie Pepper, at the Council Service Center, who will upload the information. Our Cubs deserve to have their achievements recognized not only on the Pack level, but also in their Scouting record.
Please contact the Hunterdon Arrowhead Advancement Chair, Art Dunn, if you would like to know more or have questions about Scoutbook Plus. The Hunterdon Arrowhead District volunteer members are available to support your unit.

Merit Badge Pamphlet downloads are now FREE!
After years of discussion, as of early May, ALL merit badge pamphlets can be downloaded for FREE from scouting.org. This is part of a broad effort to enhance the merit badge program with online resources. See the Digital Resource Guide (access through link below) to see some amazing Aviation Merit Badge content, with more to come. Indeed, two new merit badges are due to be announced soon, with ONLY online resources. This builds on the exciting Scouts BSA Test Lab (access through link below) where three prototype activities can be performed, and depending on popularity and feedback, may become official merit badges.
One caution…the pamphlet pdf’s were populated as-is from the current Scout Shop print files, and not all have been updated with the latest requirements. Always check Scouting.org for the latest requirements. (access through link below)

- A committee is being formed to explore holding a "Cub Scout Camporee for 2026".
- A "Marketing/Community Outreach/Recruiting Task Force" is being formed to increase the visibility and reach of scouting within Hunterdon. If you have graphic design skills or a talent for sales and marketing, please consider sharing those skills with the district.
-
"Cub Scout Day Camp 2026" will only happen if there are 2 people willing to volunteer as Camp Director and Program Director to run the event. Both positions require a time commitment for planning the week and attending a weekend of National Camp School. If both positions are not filled by August there will not be a HAD Cub Scout Day Camp 2026.
If you are interested in being involved in any of these projects, please contact Chris Phelan or Janell Bunger-Spiecha with your interest.

Dear Friends of Scouting,
On behalf of the entire Hunterdon Arrowhead District Committee, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you who joined us for our recent Leadership Recognition event. Your presence and support made the evening truly special as we honored a remarkable leader in our community—Hunterdon County Administrator and Mayor of Frenchtown, Brad Myhre.
Brad's steadfast commitment to public service and community leadership reflects the very values we aim to instill in the young people of our Scouting programs. Recognizing his contributions was not only a celebration of his achievements but also a tribute to the spirit of service and civic responsibility that Scouting strives to promote.
The success of this event was made possible by your generosity, enthusiasm, and ongoing support for the mission of Scouting America, Washington Crossing Council Hunterdon Arrowhead District raised over $10,000. Together, we are helping to shape the next generation of leaders who will follow in the footsteps of role models like Brad.
Thank you once again for your continued dedication to Scouting and to the Hunterdon Arrowhead District. We look forward to seeing you at future events and working together to strengthen Scouting in our community.
Yours in Scouting,
Christopher J. Phelan
