Imaging the Lusitania (Thurs. 5/4, 7:00pm)
Paul K. Matthais provided all the wreck imaging on the RMS Lusitania off the coast of Ireland with Bob Ballard and the National Geographic. The RMS Lusitania was a British ocean liner that was torpedoed by a German U-boat in 1915, causing it to sink in 18 minutes. The wreck lies approximately 11 miles off the Old Head of Kinsale Ireland Lighthouse in 305 feet of water. Paul will provide a presentation on the mysteries of the wreck and his experiences imaging the wrecksite. Please register in advance on the Library's website so they know how many people to expect. The Zoom link for this event will be sent several days before the program.
The PAC Center’s next “Family Fun Friday” celebrates Mexican culture and heritage on May 5, from 5:30-7:00 pm. This event invites families to come enjoy these holiday traditions brought to life through an interactive program that includes learning a classic Mexican step-dance, making tissue paper flowers and colorful maracas, rolling tacos to eat along with chips and salsa, storytelling, and Spanish music culminating in breaking open a piñata for take home treats. Join us for this creative arts enrichment program fostering cultural awareness for the whole family in collaboration with community partners. Geared for families with kids 2 - 10, all ages welcome. Reservations are requested. A 'pay what you wish' program.
