Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

May holds a special place in the Catholic Church as a month dedicated to honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary. It reflects her role as the Mother of God and a model of faith and devotion. Throughout May, many Catholics take part in beautiful traditions such as May crownings, where statues of Mary are adorned with flowers—symbolizing her purity and queenship. Be sure to visit our "Liturgical Living" section for uplifting and inspiring Marian resources.

As we move through the month, we will also be closing out the Easter season and returning to Ordinary Time. One highlight is the celebration of Pentecost on Sunday, May 24. Be sure to wear red to Mass as we celebrate this joyful feast, often called the “birthday of the Church.” For family-friendly ways to celebrate, check out Catholic Icing’s “How and Why to Celebrate Pentecost with Your Kids.”

Did you know that the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage begins in St. Augustine on May 24, 2026? You’re invited to pledge your prayers and take part in this beautiful moment for our country. See below for more details.

Looking ahead to June, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has announced that, in honor of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the bishops will consecrate the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Parishes nationwide are encouraged to join in this meaningful act of faith. Be sure to see the “Let Us Pray” section below for more details.

May the peace of Christ dwell in your heart, and may the Blessed Mother’s joy and care surround you and your loved ones.

NATIONAL EUCHARISTIC PILGRIMAGE

United Under God. Unified In Prayer.

As part of this pilgrimage, we are calling Catholics across the country to participate in a shared act of faith and hope for our nation. Together, we are working toward the offering of 250,000 Holy Hours, each and every prayer a beacon of hope, offered for the renewal and blessing of America.

This campaign will be a quiet but powerful witness: a declaration that Christ is not on the margins of our lives or our nation, but at the center. These prayers will be gathered and offered as a sign of our shared dependence on God and our desire for His guidance in the life of our country.

Join us in this nationwide movement. Unite your prayers with thousands from every corner of our country, as we continue to fan the flame of revival across the nation.

May is for Mary!

May is a very special month in our faith, as it is dedicated entirely to honoring and celebrating the one and only Mother Mary. Let’s take time this May to reflect on her incredible life and all the miraculous things she accomplished. She serves as a shining example of what it means to live a truly holy life.

The Catholic Grandparents Association hosts a Grandparents' Faith Café online via Zoom on the second Tuesday of every month. The Faith Café sees Grandparents from around the world gathering for an hour to hear from a guest speaker, to share moments of prayer and reflection and to be together in a social space. THIS MONTH SPEAKER: JOHN MICHAEL TALBOT

We believe that it all starts with the family, the domestic church.

Our goal in the Office of Marriage, Family Life, Faith Formation and Youth & Young Adult Ministry (MFLFFYM for short!) is to support parishes, parents & families in their journey of faith as they live out their God-given call with others.

Ministry of the Month

Fully Engaged Marriage Ministry

The ministry of Marriage Preparation can be one of the most rewarding experiences for a married couple who is involved in the immediate marriage preparation of an engaged couple. Working closely with the parish priest and other parish staff, as well as with the Marriage Preparation Office, a sponsor couple can enhance an engaged couple's’ preparation through their own commitment, their willingness to share and communicate their understanding of the process of Sacramental Marriage.
