Youth and Elders Program Features--
Of course, these photos of the youth and elders together are from the first of the year.
We are all looking forward to being able to have scenes like this again, youth and elders dancing, laughing, together. This newsletter features 3 youth groups and a few of the Bessie's Hope elder care partners. The 8th graders from the Montessori School of Evergreen visited every month their elder friends at both the TenderCare at Pinehurst and Garden Care Homes-Pinehurst. Students from New Legacy Charter School and elders at Balfour at Stapleton bonded and looked forward to their visits together. Escuela de Guadalupe 3rd graders and the residents at Cedar Health Care Center have visited monthly for 13 years. Faces change, but the joy is the same. Letters, cards, videos have taken the place of hugs, but the love is the same.
Contact us for information on online education and training that still ignite the compassion, empathy and respect within the youth, creating a life-long benefit. There's also virtual intergenerational interaction for the youth and elders. Click here for more information on the

"I started visiting Carol in late 2019. She requested someone to spend time with her, and I have been lucky enough to have the privilege to be her friend. At first, we got to spend time face to face, but now, we do a weekly Zoom meeting. We love to dive into Biblical philosophy and talk about food and her life growing up in Colorado. My life is more fulfilling and rich with Carol in it." Alex Cossoff
Carol is a resident at Bethany Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
This program is for individuals, families, couples, friends, who want to cultivate a life-changing relationship with an elder, who may have no other personal visitors.

For many years, students from St Mary's Academy have participated in our Youth and Elders Program. Seeing that this is NOT just for kids, teachers and staff from SMA have participated as a community service project in this program for designed for adult groups.
