1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Newton County Public Library has partnered with 1000 Books Foundation to offer 1000 Books before Kindergarten (1000BooksB4K) for children in our communities. The objectives of 1000 Books Foundation are simple – promote reading to newborns, infants and toddlers, and encourage parent and child bonding through reading.

Lake Village, Morocco and Roselawn Libraries have information sheets, log sheets & bookmarks for parents interested in the program.

Visit or call Lake Village, Morocco or Roselawn Libraries to pick up materials to begin this engaging, valuable program, or register online and track the books read through Beanstack.

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a 60-volume set of books beginning with the children’s classic The Little Engine That Could. Each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in your child’s name directly to your home. Best of all it is a FREE GIFT! There is no cost or obligation to your family.

Growing Together: A Parenting Group

The Crisis Center is very excited to announce the launch of Growing Together: A Parenting Class! We are thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with our local libraries to bring this program to you.

Growing Together: A Parenting Class is aimed to provide effective, positive, and realistic education to all parents in our community. We welcome biological parents, foster parents, grandparents, and any adult raising children. In addition to the class structure, we work as a support group for parents to lift each other up and provide guidance.

Babytime

Babytime is geared for little ones from birth up to 23 months old. We will sing interactive songs, lullabies, nursery rhymes and do simple finger plays! Come meet new friends and have fun!

Crisis Center Presentation

Come learn about the North Central Indiana Rural Crisis Center and all the wonderful resources they have to offer our community! The crisis center is a non-profit organization that provides emergency shelter and outreach supports to adults and youth impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault in Newton, Jasper, and Pulaski counties. We focus on providing trauma informed care to facilitate emotional and physical growth.

Tween Puzzle Letter

Tweens in grades 5 through 8 are invited to join us as we use old puzzles and a canvas board to create a one of a kind wall hanging. Your handcrafted Puzzle Letter will be fun, new bedroom décor!

Charcuterie Board

Deb Arseneau from Purdue Extension will be leading us in creating charcuterie boards! Have some fun as you plan and design a charcuterie board/box. Learn a few quick tips to save money and develop a plan for keeping your food safe for your guests. Adults ages 18 years and older. Price is $20 per person.
