Aloha !

As we head into May, the island is settling into a sweet shoulder season, after the spring break rush and just ahead of summer’s busiest weeks. It is an easy time to be here, with a little more breathing room at restaurants and beaches, and long, bright days that invite you outside.

April also brought a few proud Maui moments worth celebrating. At the Merrie Monarch Festival (the olympics of hula), the men of Hālau Kekuaokalā‘au‘ala‘iliahi earned runner up honors, and Maui’s own Faith Kealohapauʻole Paredes was named Miss Aloha Hula 2026, a beautiful reminder of the talent and tradition that continues to thrive across our island community.

After a stretch of active weather this spring, including a much tougher March and several days of flood watches and warnings in April, the silver lining is already showing itself. The mountains are sparkling green in places that are often sun baked this time of year, and there is a renewed, grateful energy as we look toward summer.

Below, you will find a few fresh island updates. We look forward to welcoming you to Maui soon!

Warmest Aloha,

The Ali'i Resorts Ohana
