Welcome to May!

The chamber has been busy working on two major events, and the first one happens this month! Our Small Business EXPO will be on May 21st. We will NOT have our regular meeting format this month. Instead, please plan to come and visit our businesses and learn more about all the great things going on right here in our own community. 

We will have time to mingle with fellow business owners from 11-1. Visit Thunder Road to purchase lunch while you are there. Beginning at 1:15 we will have 4 separate business seminars to help you grow your businesses. Then from 4-6 we will be inviting the public in to meet our small business owners as well.

Our second event, before we take a break from our meetings (No July Meeting), is on June 18th and will be at the Midway Town Park's new Pavilion. Stay tuned for more details.

North Carolina Zoo

The North Carolina Zoo is reaching a milestone this year. Please join us in celebrating our 50^th anniversary. Plans are underway to launch two new fundraising events as well as continue building the success of the popular family-friendly event – BOO at the Zoo.

Last year, our Zoo reached its goal of one million visitors during its 2023 season and we are confident that the goal will be met again this year. Guests can see the ongoing progress of Asia construction and habitat expansion each time they visit.

Please consider partnering with us to help raise money for our Zoo. We request that you add these exciting events to your events calendar. We invite statewide Chamber of Commerce Members the opportunity to attend and/or sponsor any or all of these events.  

·       Holly Jolly July – NEW Christmas event, Saturday, July 27^th (4:00 – 7:00 p.m.) Santa and Mrs. C. are coming to town! Fun festivities include DJ/dance party, photo ops with Santa, games, inflatables, door prizes and more!  (family friendly event 4-7 p.m.)

·       Boo at the Zoo – Annual daytime alternative to the nighttime Trick-or-Treating, Saturday and Sunday, October 26^th & 27^th   9-4 p.m. Candy locations in the Park, Inflatables, Games, DJ/Dance Party & Costume Contests.
