Hello JT,

We have a lot to share with you in this edition of our newsletter. Firstly, we want to highlight the importance of the anti-war student movement that is taking place this year and remind our community that students are calling upon the conscience of this country, just like the 1968 anti-Vietnam War movement. We stand with the students and oppose the universities and police crackdowns and arrests. We would like to share our 1968 documentary about the anti-Vietnam War movement and the Columbia strike. You can watch "Columbia Revolt" on our Vimeo Channel.

Now, let's celebrate the achievements of our community members. We are proud to announce that Roshawn Bell and River Dandelion, both graduates of our workshop, premiered their films "Femme" and "Spells for Safety" at the Newark LGBTA Film Festival. Danielle S. Mooney, another TWN Workshop graduate, premiered her fiction film "Broken Whole" at the Urban Dreams Mental Health Film Festival in NYC. Vi Tuong Bui's film "Thời Thơ Ấu (Childhood)" will be shown in three film festivals this month, the Third Horizon Film Festival, VC Film Fest, and CAAMFest. Vi is also a TWN Workshop graduate. Additionally, Kazembe Balagun, a TWN ally and workshop graduate, has taken on the role of Executive Director at the Maysles Documentary Center. Congratulations to Deborah A. Thomas and workshop graduate Loira Limbal who were awarded the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship. Filmmaker Juan Carlos Davila received the PitchBLACK Award for his upcoming film "Zenon." Finally, Calixto Chinchilla, founder of the New York Latino Film Festival (a TWN fiscal sponsor), was named one of the Influential Latinos in Media by The Imagen Foundation.

Lastly, we have some news about our organization. As we announced last month, we are going through a rebranding and today we are proud to unveil our new logo. Soon, we will also have a new website. We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new TWN Advanced Production Workshop this fall. This program, supported by the Jerome Foundation, will empower emerging filmmakers from historically marginalized communities to complete their projects or embark on new endeavors.

Don't forget to stay connected with us! Follow us on social media for updates on upcoming film screenings, workshops, and news from the TWN community.
