A variety of quality online theater and dance classes will be available for registration online by this Friday, May 8, 2020.

Aerial Dance will resume on the HUB stage this summer with safety precautions in-place-- Entrance from propped doors directly onto stage, masks required, 6 foot distance maintained, personal lyra sanitized before & after use, etc.
Summer offerings will include a few carefully selected on stage camps with highly limited spots available and enforcing social distancing practices.

Opportunities for private group registrations with small groups of friends will also be available.

Susie is excited to take on the challenge of presenting theater in an age of social distancing. Actors will get the chance to fully explore characterization in their "bubble" spaces on stage.

INTRODUCING: SHAWNA MENDEZ

We are excited to announce that Shawna will be teaching online theater classes, voice lessons and virtual choral instruction for the HUB this summer! Shawna has been working as a very successful performing arts teacher in Jefferson County for eighteen years teaching choir, band, orchestra and musical theater. She is currently in her fifteenth year at The Manning School of Academics and Arts in Golden, Colorado where she directs choir and musical theater. She directs two musicals each year and hosts summer theatre for kids across the district. Shawna has been a mentor teacher and has had numerous student teacher placements throughout the years. Shawna received her Bachelor of Music Education degree with choral emphasis from Metropolitan State University of Denver, and holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Colorado Christian University. As a quarter-finalist for the Grammy Music Educator Award in 2014 and 2020, Shawna has been recognized for her work with students. Shawna is a child advocate and former foster parent to eleven children. She is happily married to another music educator in Jefferson County, John Mendez, and has two handsome sons, Alec and Bret as well as two beautiful daughters, Eliana and Julia.
