May's First (Social Distancing) Friday

Coralville, IA

Local artist, John Martinek, uses traditional techniques within drawing, printmaking and painting while working in his studio in Coralville, Iowa. Gathering inspiration from the symbolism of light, space, architectural structures, manufactured objects, the human body and nature, John creates truly remarkable works of art that captivate the viewer.
Read more about John and explore some of his fascinating creations, many of which are locally inspired, on our website and online store.
This year more than ever, it is important to reflect on and celebrate the mothers in our lives who have prepared us to have strength, resiliency, and hope.
Let's celebrate the Class of 2020!
Maybe it's with a piece from a local Iowa artist? A beautiful new leather portfolio, sketchbook or bag? Or something to adorn their new home or jewelry collection!

Shop and Support
A social distance "Hello" from our manager
" Hello to you all! To our customers, our artists, the Iowa City and local community, to my lovely staff... I have missed you all dearly! As a complete extrovert, I am on the struggle bus over here just hanging out with me, myself, and I each day at the gallery. I look forward to seeing you all again (beware, I'll probably talk your ear off!) when it is safe for us to open our doors. We appreciate all of your support during this difficult time and will be needing it more than ever when we are able to reopen. In the meantime, if I can be of any assistance to you, please contact me ( PLEASE ! I NEED TO TALK TO SOMEONE ABOUT SOMETHING OTHER THAN MINECRAFT AND FORTNITE!) at the gallery and we will get you taken care of. Thank you again and be well.

Graciously,
Bethany Young, Gallery Manager

Local Artist
Amy Dobrian

Mother and Daughter Monotype
Iowa City artist,  Amy Dobrian ,  focuses on the medium monotype, which is often accented with collage and hand drawing. Colors are added in transparent layers and oil based relief inks are applied with rollers in a thin film. Once printed, each drawing is unrepeatable, making her works true one-of-a-kinds.

Reminder:
In hopes of generating sales and support for local and small businesses in the downtown community, ICDD is incentivizing patronage to businesses by giving away FREE ICDD gift cards.
