President's Note

Hello friends,

It's going to be a light newsletter this month. We don't know when things will be back to even semi-normal. All the art shows, music shows, and theatre productions are being cancelled and refunded. All I can say is keep busy with your arts. We will let you know when we are able to open the gallery. We still plan to have our big Fall Art Show in September.

As for the gallery art shows, we will combine all the theme shows into one, once we are able to open the gallery. So, keep working on your themes. If the Fitchburg Open Studios is still going to happen in October, we will enter our theme artworks.

We received over 100 pieces of art for our Virtual Art Tour. It is still being put together; we will announce soon where you can watch it. This will be a great way to try and sell our artist member's art.

Three themes to continue to work on:
  1. Chasing the Light
  2. Food
  3. My Favorite Places
Take care and God bless you.

Keene Art Walk 2020
Keene, NH

Popular Event is Still Planned!

Arts Alive! is involved in the planning of Keene ArtWalk. At the latest meeting, the decision was made to continue with the event with as many businesses and artists as are able to participate. The committee may be changing the dates slightly to accommodate making the event more accessible and safe. We are building a health and safety plan and thinking about how to make other changes to the event to ensure it meets guidelines and expectations laid out both by the government and local health workers who are heroically serving on the front lines.

Please stay tuned!

Call to Artists: Art in the City
Presented by Family Health Center of Worcester, MA

Postponed Until Friday, October 2, 2020

Family Health Center of Worcester is pleased to invite artists to participate in our 22nd annual Art in the City fundraising gala. Art in the City raises funds to directly support critical health services for over 35,000 low-income, culturally diverse individuals cared for by Family Health Center. Dozens of local artists donate original works of art which are available for auction at the gala. Art in the City's silent art auction is the pinnacle of the event. This year, we hope you will consider joining our family of artists by donating an original piece of your artwork.

For 47 years, Family Health Center has been providing comprehensive medical, dental, vision, behavioral health, and social services in Greater Worcester and South Worcester County regardless of patients' ability to pay. Your donation will help us achieve our vision of compassionate, quality care where every person matters.

Art in the City will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Washburn Hall at Mechanics Hall in downtown Worcester. Donating artists are invited to attend the gala as our guest for the evening. We will feature your artwork in an online gallery of donated works at www.ArtintheCity.org. The website and event program book will also include your artist statement and a link to your website or online gallery.

You may submit the Call to Artists form online. We hope you will participate in Art in the City. If you have any questions, please contact Development Associate, Lindsay MacPhail, at 508-860-7951. Your talent helps create a healthier community and we appreciate your support.
