It's nearly here - Mother's Day!

Sunday, May 8th, is Mother's Day this year.  It's one of those holidays that tends to sneak up on you most years, and this year especially so since it is as early in the month of May as it could possibly be.
Have you been dropping hints for your perfect gift?  Do you need a perfect gift for the most important lady in your life?
We have lots of wonderful ideas for you to pass on to those who would love to have an idea of what to give to you, or for you to give your own special knitting-crocheting-spinning mom yourself.
And of course, there is always the ultimate perfect gift - a Gift Certificate to Conversational Threads!

Kiva.org Update

As most of you know, we at Conversational Threads are enthusiastic supporters of the organization known as Kiva.org, a  non-profit organization with a mission to connect people through lending of micro-loans to alleviate poverty.  To date, we have loaned out nearly $9000 dollars.  Some have defaulted on their loans, many more have paid us back.  We currently have approximately $7600 circulating in loans in 8 different countries, helping to fund such things as seed purchases for a small farm in Kenya, supplies for a general store in Rwanda, and right now one of our favorite causes is helping to fund the installation and maintenance of chlorine dispensers to provide access to safe drinking water for 5 communities in Kenya.
We have lots of great things planned for June, including a great new class for teens who would like to learn to knit, and a fabulous trunk show with designs knitted by Stephen West, Kirsten Kapur and Ysolda Teague, just to name a few.  I will speak more about these exciting events in next month's newsletter, but the details are up on our website if you care to have a look.

See you at the Shop -
Cindy

(PS - We will be closed on Monday, May 30th for Memorial Day, so all of our associates can enjoy the day with their families.  Happy Memorial Day in advance!)
