Stimulation - Knowledge - Interaction - Fun
It's time to propose a fall course! We encourage you to share your knowledge or passion or explore a new interest. Our volunteer instructors have rich and varied backgrounds - musicians, journalists, doctors, professors, government officials, lawyers, ministers, business owners, school teachers, artists, and researchers.
Teaching for Acadia Senior College is rewarding and fun! You will meet new people and learn together with your students. No past teaching experience or fancy degrees required.
Course proposals for Fall 2024 are due May 20th.
Have an idea for a class? Do you know someone who might like to offer a course? Please reach out to them and encourage them to be in touch.

Artist's Reception
The artist's reception attracted over 100 members and guests who enjoyed refreshments, the art, and a chance to connect with friends, instructors, and volunteers.
The Membership & Volunteers Committee provided delicious and plentiful food and lovely decorations. Thank you Linda Uberseder, Ruth Rossi, Ann Caswell, Donna Gaines, Rita Gallon, Sharyn Hastings, Pamela Hattem, and Nancy Howland.

The Art Show Committee and volunteers organized and hung the artwork and created and printed the labels. Thank you Sydney Roberts Rockefeller, Susan Lerner, Melita Westerlund, Bonnie Chase, Rita Roppolo, Judith Burger-Gossart, Sharyn Hastings, and Mike Hastings. Sydney, Susan, and Melita constructed the traditional art show arch using portions of arches from the past 10 years!
Lastly, Sydney presented President Mike Hastings with the traditional headgear which he wore as he thanked this past year's site partners - ArtWaves, Birch Bay, Camden National Bank, Machias Savings Bank, MD365, Neighborhood House, Northeast Harbor Library, Somesville Union Meeting House, St. John's Episcopal Church, St. Saviour's Episcopal Church, Southwest Harbor Public Library, and Wendell Gilley Museum. He also thanked our instructors and recognized Peg Olson for her excellent technical support throughout the year.

Spring Appeal
Have you enjoyed our classes and events this year?
| |
Our spring appeal is underway. We need your help to sustain ASC learning opportunities and continue to offer a broad range of courses, lecture topics, field trips, and social events. Membership fees and course tuition go a long way to support the college, but we still rely on contributions for about 1/3 of our annual budget.
You can donate online or if you prefer you may mail a check to
ASC, PO Box 475, Southwest Harbor, ME 04679. Would you consider becoming a monthly donor? This is a convenient way to donate a little at a time throughout the year. Also, remember you can also make a donation to honor or memorialize a special person at any time.
We truly count on your support!

Reminder - Spring Course Evaluations
Spring courses are wrapping up (or will be soon.) Don't forget to submit your online course evaluations. The Curriculum Committee reviews comments to help them evaluate class sizes and locations, and learn what topics you enjoy. Please use the online form - this ensures that your comments will automatically be shared anonymously with the committee and instructors.
