Character Counts
At ATA, we go beyond cartwheels and handsprings...Our goal is to instill confidence, integrity and strong work ethic in every student.  During the last two weeks of May, coaches will lead discussions on how students can demonstrate positive character qualities while in class.  Students will then be given the opportunity to put it into practice!  Everyone will get to choose a stamp with a character trait that he/she will focus on during that specific class (examples: confident, focused, positive, brave, strong).  We encourage you to talk with your child after class about the stamp that they chose and how they were able to practice that positive mindset.  Go a little further and ask how they can practice this character quality in school, hobbies, other sports.

Acrobatic Gymnastics Team

Spring is fully underway and the weather could not have been better for the 2017 Acro State Championships this past month!  Not only the sun outside was shining, but ATA's athletes were also shining bright!  Everyone performed well and gained qualifying scores to advance to Regional Championships, May 13-14 to be hosted in Orange, CA.  State Championships was the largest in recent history, hosting more than 370 athletes!  Not just California was present, but also Arizona, Nevada and even a club from our northern neighbor, Canada.  ATA earned 8 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 1 bronze medal.  Special shout out to Evelyn, Kaylee and Emily for bringing home the level 10 team award!  Way to go trio!  All your hard work showed up!

Also, last month's Acro Clinic was a huge success.  It was a full event with 16 athletes participating!  Everyone had a chance to learn some acro basics and fun partner skills.  Favorites were column and swing!  We are looking forward to the next clinic coming up Friday, May 19th 6-7:30pm!  Make sure to sign up early to secure a spot!

Have a Great Day!
