In case your mouth is watering from the photo to the left, let me explain!
Last week was the Chamber Sundowner at our office. The food was delicious and there was a super crowd. What a great networking affair! I love seeing our friends, neighbors and clients. The place was packed to the gills and there wasn't a morsel left at the end of the evening. A special thank you to the Bigfork Chamber, our great office group and food the providers: Marina Cay, Saketome Sushi and Schafers. See you on June 8th at the next one at Marina Cay.
Listings are coming in fast and furious and sales are strong particularly in the under $400,000 category. I have tons of new listings to share with you below and some positive market news.
The number of foreclosures has been steadily decreasing since the bottom of the local housing crisis at the end of 2011. For a detailed report from Kelley's Market Trends, click here.
The key factor to consider when listing your property is PRICE! If it's
not competitive with other comparative properties on the market that have recently sold, it will be unlikely to sell and may become shopworn the longer it stays on the market. My experience and expertise will guide you to the right price. Call me! We'll go have dinner and talk.
If you want to list your property, please call me or text me. Let's enjoy a Montana summer together...
Cheers!
Denise

From my kitchen to yours....Scallops Provencal
|
|
Click the photo for a video on how to make this delicious dish.
This will totally WOW your friends and family!
|
|
|
Directions:
1 pound fresh bay or sea scallops
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
all-purpose flour for dredging
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
1/2 cup chopped shallots
1 garlic clove minced
1/4 cup chopped fresh flat leaf parsley
1/3 cup dry white wine 1 lemon cut in half
If you're using bay scallops, keep them whole.
If you're using sea scallops, cut each one in half horizontally. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, toss with flour and shake off the excess. In a very large sauté pan, heat 2 tablespoons of the butter over high heat until sizzling and add the scallops in 1 layer. Lower the heat to medium and allow the scallops to brown lightly on one side without moving them, then turn and brown lightly on the other side. This should take 3 to 4 minutes total. Melt the rest of the butter in the pan with the scallops then add the shallots, garlic and parsley and sauté for 2 more minutes, tossing the seasonings with the scallops. Add the wine, cook for 1 minute and taste for seasoning. Serve hot with a squeeze of lemon juice.
I recommend roasted asparagus as a side dish and a nice French Chardonnay.

Denise's Book Corner for May...
|
|
All the Light We Cannot See
by Pulitzer Prize-winning writer, Anthony Doerr
The novel is about a blind French girl and a German boy whose paths crash into each other in occupied France as both of them try to survive the devastation of World War II,
I always enjoy a meaty historical fiction and the time frame is really interesting to me. Although the writing was incredible, I have to admit I picked up the book and put it down several times before I really got into it. Hands down, the descriptions were extremely vivid and the writing did an excellent job of expressing how the characters felt through their actions, rather than the author telling me.
The short chapter structure (average 1.5 pages) helped make the story more discernable and the read went quick once I got into it. In fact, I was really sad when the book was over. I think what enticed me the most was the skill of the writer's metaphors and the juxtaposition of the concepts of light and dark. It was truly enjoyable.
