MHO Receives Top Grant Award from Women for Women Giving Circle

Mountain Housing Opportunities is excited to announce a $125,000 grant from the members of the Women for Women Giving Circle to expand our Down Payment Assistance Program. This investment, the largest Women for Women have ever granted, will help more low-to-moderate income earning families achieve homeownership in Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson, and Madison counties. The $125,000 grant is part of a collective $288,000 Women for Women awarded in 2024 to six non-profit organizations serving residents across Western North Carolina. Women for Women is an initiative housed at the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina. Since 2006, members have awarded over $5.2M to more than 60 programs serving women and girls.

“We are grateful to the members of Women for Women for their generous and timely gift to MHO’s Down Payment Assistance program. This grant will make a generational impact on the individuals and their families who access the stability, economic empowerment, and wealth-building opportunities that homeownership brings.”

- Charlie Owen

Chair, MHO Board of Directors

MHO In the Community: Thank You for Your Support!

Thanks to all who joined in to support Mosaic Realty’s 2nd Annual Art Walk and Benefit! This year’s event recorded great attendance and record-breaking fundraising. Special thanks to Mike Figura, Vanessa Byrd, Gus Mujica, Amy Neshat, Stephanie Sharp, and the entire Mosaic team for their support. Special thanks also to Julia of American Folk Art, musician Jay Brown, Wicked Weed Brewery, Bottle Riot, and the team at Kudzu Brands.

Shout out to our partners at Asheville's Mast General Store! MHO was featured as the store’s Round Up partner in April. Patrons could “round up” their purchase totals to support MHO’s affordable housing services, resulting in over $4,100 raised! Our heartfelt thanks go out to the team at Mast’s Downtown Asheville store for helping spread the word about MHO.
