MAY 2019
Ultimate Apple--Honor Your Teacher
For we are His  workmanship ,
created in Christ Jesus
for good works,
which God prepared beforehand
that we should walk in them.
(Ephesians 2:10. NKJV.)

Heartfelt Thanks to All Parents, Grandparents, Extended Family and Friends
With school out for the summer, we look ahead to a new year filled with new opportunities for learning.

We've received approximately $18,000. That's a lot of apples! The apples are still rolling in, as folks are still giving online through our website, and we are believing God that we will reach $20,000. If you have not had a chance yet to send in your donation, it is convenient to do so online via the Parent Links page on the school website .
With your generous donations to our Ultimate Apple Campaign, we will be able to gift the teachers a $500 (full-time) or a $250 (part-time) gift to use as they see fit for the start of the next school year. All additional donations from the campaign will remain in the Professional Development Fund for teacher training expenses.

We pray for God to richly bless you during the summertime.
National Day of Prayer
At NVCA, one event each year we are proud to be a part of is observance of the National Day of Prayer.

On May 2, faculty and students from preschool through high school gathered on the lawn near the flag to ask God's blessings on our country.
Together we asked God to guide and protect our country's leadership. We thanked Him for blessing us with our wonderful country and the many freedoms that we have.

With hearts as little children, we asked our Heavenly Father to continue to intervene for America.
Fine Arts Night 2019
What a Show!
On Tuesday evening, May 14, we enjoyed a very talented variety show performed by our students under the direction of Kim Cooper Smith and Laura Huizenga.

Elementary, middle school, and high school students showcased their talents with musical instrument renditions, solos and choral singing, and dancing.
Fine Arts Exhibit
After the show, we had the opportunity to view all of the amazing artwork our students produced throughout the year under the direction of Anita Brown in our Fine Arts Department.

We sure are blessed here at NVCA! Thank you Anita Brown, Kim Cooper Smith, and Laura Huizenga for developing the God-given talents in our young people and encouraging them to shine.
Promotions & Graduations
NVCA Eighth-Grade Promotion

On May 23, 2019, we celebrated the promotion of our eighth-grade students. The focus of this ceremony was to celebrate a milestone in their maturing and growing in their walk with God. The purpose also was to encourage them as they move forward into high school. We are thankful for them and look forward to seeing them grow in their relationship with God and their maturity in their faith.
NVCA's First Graduating Class
We were excited and proud to see our first graduating class officially graduate on May 24, 2019. All of our graduates are looking ahead to further their education, and the majority of them are staying in-state. We had ten graduates in our first class who have been awarded over a half-million dollars in college scholarships! We are very thankful for the opportunity God has given us with them this last year.

Our graduation ceremony was focused on breathing into our graduates with who God has created them to be and praying for them as He sends them out to grow them and impact others for Christ in their future careers. We are very proud and thankful that these ten students will represent NVCA's first graduating class.

2018-2019 Athletic Highlights
Go Lions!
We've had an amazing year in athletics. Our boys and girls basketball teams had many wins and improved their skills and knowledge of the game.

Our stunt and cheer team won several trophies. We want to thank our director, Scotty Brown, and all of our wonderful coaches for drawing out the athletic talents in our students and instilling a love for sport in their lives. Most important is the love of God that our coaches have poured into our athletes as well as teaching them what it really means to be Christ-like.

First Annual Banquet
We held our first annual sports banquet on May 9 to honor and award our athletes who represented our school so well not only in sport but in an exceptional Christ-like manner. We can't wait to see what they do next year!
