Get ready for the 2015-2016 UAMA season! This exciting year of exhibitions, programming, collaborations, and events highlights works from world-renowned artists through the Museum's Permanent Collection and traveling exhibitions.  You won't want to miss Fires of Change, a NEA-funded exhibition on the impact of forest fires, or Rome- Legacy of an Eternal City, a celebration of the beauty and majesty of the fabled city. Opening soon at the UAMA-  Beyond the Straight and Narrow  and  Director's Choice/Curator's Choice.
Beyond the Straight and Narrow, opening  May 29 and guest curated by Brooke Grucella, explores the world of Geometric Abstraction and its influence on contemporary art trends. Director's Choice/Curator's Choice, opening June 26, explores the different curatorial styles of Museum Director W. James Burns and Curator Olivia Miller. They've both chosen their favorite pieces from the Permanent Collection for this curatorial smackdown. Learn about upcoming exhibitions here.

Docent Recruitment

Calling all art lovers- the UAMA wants YOU! A new docent class is starting this fall, and we're looking for art lovers who want to share their passion for art and the UAMA with the community. Docents fill a vital role at the Museum by giving tours and outreach presentations around Tucson. No previous background in art or art history is required. Interested? An informational session will be held May 7 at 10 am at the Museum.


Art Sprouts Summer Sessions


Love Art Sprouts? This summer will feature a double-dose! The May 20, June 24, and July 15 dates will each have two sessions- one at 9 am and one at 11 am. Art created during these summer sessions will have an opportunity to be displayed in the  Selections from Art Sprouts  fall exhibition.
