Undergraduate Student Research Competition

The Pam and Rolando Del Maestro Family Undergraduate Student Research Competition Awards were established to promote scientific innovation among Canadian undergraduate students.


Over the years Pam and Rolando have fostered students in the field of brain tumour research by providing them with varied opportunities to present their ideas and engage with physicians and researchers in the field of neuro-oncology and neuroscience.

Research Grants - NOW OPEN!

Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada is seeking outstanding researchers conducting quality brain tumour research.


Grants of up to $25,000 will be available for research taking place within Canada for any type of primary or metastatic brain tumour, adult or pediatric.

Studentship Recipient Announcement

Congratulations to our 2023 Studentship recipient, Anish Puri!


Anish is an Undergraduate Science Student, McMaster University, Supervisor, Dr. Sheila Singh. Anish’s project is entitled, “uPAR as an immunotherapeutic target in recurrent Glioblastoma”.

Brain Tumour Registry Update

Although a rare tumour, more than 1 in 1000 Canadian is living with a primary central nervous system (CNS) tumour.


In our recently published scientific paper in Current Oncology, we provided the most up-to-date histology-specific and comprehensive surveillance estimates for primary CNS tumours in Canada. Overall, the Canadian surveillance estimates were comparable to those reported in the US and some European countries.
