President's Notes

We're off to a great start! April proved to be a “dodge the rain” month, but we all persevered and got in some golf; the good, the bad and sometimes the ugly! Ladies - thank you all for supporting play days and our tournaments.

Congrats to Kathy Massey & Jean Rosenberg who took the crown during April's Pembroke Putting Club!

What a creative and sometimes evil tee placement for our Master’s Par Tee event. Between the trees, across the fairways, over the traps or water….you name it, Chris placed it!

Even with all the tough spots, The Egan’s backed up their “mastering” of the Green Jacket and stayed the champs for 2022.

Congrats to Susan and Mike!

Our first LGA tournament of the year, The Ringer, brought out a full house of ladies vying for the title. Thank you Betty Potter and Sharon Hamelin for organizing this outing.

2022 Member-Member Tournament

It's back! The ever-popular Member-Member tournament is just around the corner. This tourney always brings out the best in our players. Will past winners Jean Rosenberg and Teresa Taylor pull off a back-to-back win?

Cocktail party, drinks & hors d'oeuvres, betting cash pool

Saturday, May 21, 9 AM (Shotgun)

Dye Course

Lunch buffet after play, putting contest with hosted beer and wine

Sunday, May 22, 9 AM (Shotgun)

Nicklaus Course

Two-lady best net ball, awards luncheon after play, flight winner's shoot-out with hosted beverages

Entry Fee

90$ per person + cart fees | Includes cocktail party, light breakfast and lunch both days, putting contest, on-course contests, flight winners shoot-out, and prizes.

Format

Best net ball of the team both days. Field will be flighted by team handicaps.

As a reminder, on days when we have team play and your score cannot help the team, you are to pick up and take what would be equitable for that hole. NOT your max. So, if your partner is in for a par and you are on the green but cannot help, then take what you believe you could have made were you to finish the hole.

Interclub

Let's support our Interclub leaders, Marsha Rothstein and Nancy Sutera by signing up for the May 16 matches! Landfall will host the first match and we need 18 players to rally together to show the talent and skills of the LGA. Handicaps 0-36 are encouraged to play.

NC Women's Amateur is hosted by the NC Women's Golf Association and is a great tournament for anyone with a handicap below 20. Sandy Crumrine has registered to play again this year and will be driving to and from the tournament each day. She would love to carpool over with some other ladies!

Royals Ringer Challenge

May 5 | July 21 | September 1

New! Who doesn't want to be royal for a day? We have four flights with two flights playing the Marsh and two playing the Pines with winners for each of these play days. (While the playday game is 18 holes, only the specific nine of your flight counts toward the Royals Ringer Challenge.)

Each time you play on one of the above dates, you can improve your 9-hole score on the nine of your designated flight. On September 1, there will be FOUR Royal winners!

You will automatically be entered in the Royals Ringer Challenge if you play at least one of these dates. Come out and play!
