Innovation Showcase & INCubator Pitch Night at BHS
Join Barrington 220 and the Barrington 220 Educational Foundation at the annual Innovation Showcase at Barrington High School on May 21 from 4:30pm to 6pm! BHS students enrolled in Career Technical Education (CTE) courses will showcase their portfolios, and attendees will learn more about the innovative spaces and career programs offered at BHS. It’s a great way for families, especially those with younger kids, to see what’s ahead as their students move through Barrington 220 schools.
Following the showcase, head to the BHS auditorium, where the 12th annual Business INCubator Pitch Night will begin at 6pm. Student groups will pitch their companies to investors during a "Shark Tank"-style presentation. Believed to be the first of its kind in the nation, the Business INCubator program was started at Barrington High School during the 2013-14 school year. Since the program’s inception, it has grown nationally and internationally.
| | First Transform 220 Construction Project Gets Underway Next Month | |
This summer, new flooring will be installed at Arnett C. Lines Elementary School as part of the district's Transform 220 initiative. This will mark the initiative's first construction project to get underway. All other projects are currently in the design phase, which will continue through January 2026. Over the past few months, focus groups met with team leads—staff members with direct connections to each planned project—to identify opportunities, discuss challenges, and share inspirational images. District administrators have taken multiple site tours and are meeting frequently with team leads and DLA Architects to further define the objectives for each project. | Attention to Attendance: Chronic Absenteeism
Barrington 220 values student attendance. Each month, we're sharing attendance facts with you in our Attention to Attendance section. This month’s focus is on chronic absenteeism.
The Illinois State Report Card is the state's official resource for public school information in Illinois. It provides families, researchers, policymakers, and community members with access to important data about schools, such as academic performance, school environment, educator, and student details. Chronic absenteeism is included in the District Snapshot. Please remain attentive to your child's attendance as we work hard to bring the percentage of students who are chronically absent down.
