One spring day in 2008, Hands4Hope participants hid eggs and made crafts with children from the nearby White Rock Village community. The Spring Potluck Picnic was Hands4Hope's very first Community Engagement event and the start of a partnership with White Rock Village that grew to mentoring and building positive relationships with the community's children through more than 500 outreach events.

Hands4Hope high school students volunteered at the Empty Bowls event in Placerville on Sunday, April 16. Volunteers serve soup, bread, and drinks to over 1000 people as a fundraiser to fight hunger in our community. Some of the proceeds from the event also get donated to international organizations.

The Wellness Expo was hosted by the Hands4Hope Youth Board on Sunday, April 24. This event was dedicated to bringing awareness to mental health, as well as supporting JJ's Hello Foundation.

"I think that Hands4Hope - Youth Making a Difference adds incredible value to the community. Having been a part of many Hands4Hope service initiatives and social engagement events in the past, I have been inspired by how many people the Hands4Hope community has helped and how many smiles I have seen on peoples’ faces not only among Hands4Hope volunteers, but also among everyone who attended these initiatives and events."
